Did you know that one of my worst nightmares is the thought of having breakfast in bed? 🙈What say you? Click here helixsleep.com/emmymade for up to $200 off your Helix Sleep mattress plus two free pillows
  • @TheWibbo
used ice cubes instead of flour and substituted coke with bourbon, came out good.
  • @SyBernot
IMO the whole reason to make your own bread is so that you can break all the rules and have that first steamy slice right out of the oven smothered in butter. There is absolutely nothing better than that.
  • Back in my bread machine craze I made a Dr. Pepper bread with grated apple. Probably the best bread I ever "made".
  • @EnigmaDave
The recipe is interesting, but the instructions on those beautiful twists were so clear and concise. Thanks for dropping that in, Emmy!
  • @moochcat8439
Warm bread with some good quality butter is one of the best things in life.
  • @gryphonshire
The title had me thinking the bread was made from ONLY Coke & Flour. I could not imagine how that was possible, then I saw the other ingredients going in.....
  • @zinja0830
Seeing you demonstrate braiding is so much clearer than any demonstration of hair braiding I've ever seen. Now I want to try braiding with multiple strands on various objects and maybe my own head lol
  • @heatherp5454
Emmy says the way she described how to braid the bread was "not a very good description"... But that was the best way I've heard it described. It is always so confusing and that was soooo easy to follow along!
  • @Verlopil
So it's normal bread that uses Coke for water? That's just adding a bunch of high fructose corn syrup. No wonder it's like sandwich bread.
  • Love when Emmy tests out weird recipes so we don't have to if it fails!
  • @patmaurer8541
Thank you! You're the first person I've ever seen demonstrate a 6-strand braid in a way that made sense to me! My next loaf is going to be beautiful :-)
  • I love these experimental and very “Great Depression”-esque cooking videos
  • @anidanielle
Gorgeous! I make challah every week but am in a hurry most times and only braid 3 or 4 strands. My kids keep asking for a 6 braid and you've inspired me to finally do it.
  • @mazzyg6186
Before watching this it makes so much sense! It’s got sugar, it’s got sodium, it’s got carbonation! This is going in my apocalypse recipe box
  • @gaber1346
Sounds like it would be a perfect recipe for traditional loaf pans it’s always nice to have that nostalgic slightly sweet, sliced white bread every once in a while 😊
  • @bakersbooks
I make challah pretty much every Friday so it was fun to watch you make braided bread! I've got sticky notes on my fridge with the sequences 4, 5, 6, and 8-strand braids, but the way you do the 6-strand is really easy to remember.
  • Ahh, some time to relax and watch someone who makes everything calm and peaceful. :)
  • @Judymontel
That is one gorgeous challah!! You even made the 6-strand (that has intimidated me for years) seem clear and doable - thank you! PS Not all challah are enriched. Some are very plain and yours looks delicious.
  • Emmy, I've seen a lot of these "just add two or three ingredients and done" type recipes and your scepticism is well founded! Often, there's more ingredients and it takes more time, etc. Your instinct to add, leavening, sugar and salt was spot on! I'm glad the bread turned out so beautifully!
