  • Cetrion probably the most wasted potential character of the franchise and giving her a more fleshed out story wasn't a hard task.
  • @randomguy9988
I like how she gives her power to Liu Kang, since I found it so weird how 2 mortals and a lesser god managed to destroy an elder god and a titan
  • @HMZeroTwo
The fact that Cetrion's own ending made her more interesting than the Story Mode did is a transgression

How the hell is there a playable Elder God on the roaster and in the story and they still can't manage to win a fucking fight.
  • You'd think that a character like Cetrion, who is supposed to be the opposite to Shinnok's malicious and devastating nature, would be more prone to defecting to the protagonists' side out of compassion. But then again, this is coming from the same writers who said "Sindel look evil, so we make Sindel evil."
  • @SoulReaper2367
I like the idea of her being the mysterious woman in Jade’s mk9 ending
  • @Jose-se9pu
Sometimes I forgot Cetrion was an elder god, and Kronica was a freaking titan...
  • @boomboombooty
Cetrion is a character I genuinely forgot was in the due to lack lustre her appearance was in the story mode and in the whole game as a whole
  • "She's not even above Raiden's level" Why you gotta disrespect my boi Raiden like that The shit I took this morning is above her level
  • @nerdscore6756
And Sindel banshee scream is able enough to hurt Cetrion yet characters need to tag team to take her out or need a power up.
  • @TheDigitalApple
I still keep forgetting Cetrion is an elder god, yet considering how much NRS barely used her in MK11 you’d forgive me for thinking so.
  • @Vegeta241
Cetrion in my eyes was the second most wasted character of the story behind Dark Raiden, and damn it, you did her great justice here Snake. This was amazingly creative!
  • I think there should be something along the lines of a character like an Elder God needing to give up their power to decend into the mortal realms for a non-arbitrary reason. Something like most of that power being necessary to maintain the realms and is something they simply tap into as elder gods rather than it being a part of them, or needing to limit their power since if they didn't manifesting within a realm would begin unraveling it. It's rather annoying that while characters supposedly are beyond mortal strength and/or gain upgrades in power nothing about their gameplay changes with rare and relatively mundane exceptions. I get that you want to keep things balanced for multiplayer and standard matches, but the campaign should be the place to represent the characters at their true strength.
  • Man it's stuff like this makes me wish we could start a Kickstarter to make snake get a position on the storyboarding

I really have no idea what's going on in the writer's room at NRS. I understand that to a certain degree a creative vision is going to get muddied by studio interference, but MK11, most of MKX, and the final act of MK9 all feel like they had no idea what to do with the characters and just jotted down whatever would keep them from getting fired that week. Here in these three high budget, narratively driven games, they have the opportunity to piece together narratively interesting stories that flesh out these characters who each have their own widespread fanbase, and instead they seem to drop the ball at every turn. This series is important because it points out how truly awful NRS has handled its characters and their development in the last three games

It's kinda sad when a guy on youtube can come up with a better and more coherant Mortal Kombat story than the "professional" writers at NRS.
  • And we most likely never will get a Cetrion vs. Shinnok fight even though Cetrion most likely always be the winner light beats dark.
  • @rcblazer
The way they handled Cetrion in MK11 only serves to remind me of Phelous' "Elder Gods of Useless" and how accurate that term truly is.
  • @Macaulyn_97
Cetrion was such a disappointment to me. I was one of the few people who liked her design, since its very different from anything we had in MK before, so when the story set her up to be conflicted, I thought she would have a hero reveal at the end, when Kronika asked for her to sacrifice herself, I thought "Okay, no she gives her power to Liu Kang", like, even the idea of her Elder God soul being what pushes Fire God Liu Kang's power to the same level as Kronika's made perfect sense. But no... we her story just ends with her being a good daughter to her mommy and we having a massive logic hole of a mortal guy with a Lesser God's power being able to match a Titan who just absorbed an Elder God's soul.
