It's actually pretty funny reading all the comments saying the S2000 was at fault. Nobody seems to realize that the Nurburgring isn't actually a race track on the Touristenfahrten (tourist drive) days. The R32 came in WAY too hot, and he could see the slow S2000 from quite a distance away coming off that straight before the left hand kink. People drive way too hard on the Touristenfahrten sessions and often outdrive their own abilities.
  • The accident is from a public day where the Ring is a one-way public toll road; it isn't closed off as in with their trackdays.  On public days coaches and trucks go around too, so those saying the S2000 was going too slow and had no right to be there are merely ignorant of the facts.

It is funny to read comments from people that haven't got the slightest idea on what a Touristenfahrten is... IT COULD HAVE BEEN A TRUCK INSTEAD OF THE S2000, or a slow motorcycle (dead after this kind of crash). This is NOT a track day, and NO, you are not obliged to go fast. Assumption is the mother of ALL F-UPS.
  • I guess the reaction was: "what the hell? In Gran Turismo I can take this corner much faster!!!"

The Golf got out of shape way before it hit the Honda. For some reason, it drove onto the grass, then it never recovered.

Safely cruise at Nordschleiefe they said It will be fun they said
  • I hope the R32 paid for the S2000 damages. Footage clearly shows the S2000 was on the slow lane and even put his signal on to show he is aware of faster oncoming traffic and letting them pass
  • Whoever says that the fault is of the Sk2, has never driven at ring. Ring is not a circuit , rules here are slighty different. 1) You can overtake only left side. S2k was in the right place for the rules. 2) Golf pilot has made a huge mistake, overestimating his position and braking on the grass. 3) As for the road, if you hit, you are responsable. Sorry for the two drivers, but it's Golf fault.

Der S2000 Fahree macht bestimmt langsam wegen dem Warndreieck am rechten Rand!
  • It's interesting to see how the ESP worked and /almost/ avoided a terrible crash.

I just done the Nurburg last weekend. Obv much faster 911s etc were up my arse within seconds, made my first mistake of sticking to the left indicating left but they would not over take on the right and flashed at me, having realised its German law I went to the right and they overtook on the left which is what this S2000 is doing. Ppl have to remember its not a race track, makes no difference how slow the S2000 was, could be stationary from breaking down, Golf driver entered that corner far too fast and had he not crashed into the S2000 he wouldv made a meal of the corner anyway. His mistake, was out of his depth and going onto the grass made him loose control which lead him into the S2000s rear. If hed stayed on the track he mightv just crashed his own car and not involved any innocent drivers.

    Thank god the E30 wasn't involved ><

Ist bekannt, warum der Fahrer so langsam unterwegs war? Hatte er einen Defekt, oder wurde ihm das einfach zu viel und setzte den Blinker rechts und fuhr langsam weiter?
