Thank you so much for sharing. It is admirable to be open enough to share your grades because getting C’s aren’t shameful. College is tough, especially for STEM majors. I hate some creators make videos to complain how hard the program is but they’re constantly getting A+s.
  • I am just seeing this. I started at EMU and transferred to UofM for engineering as well. Glad to see someone who succeeded taking the same path as me.

The intro was so relatable. Most of my high school friends made it into famous/ivy universities and I had to “settle” for my state school. I remember thinking that Georgia Tech was going to be my safety when I sent out all my applications, then getting rejected from every one that I applied to besides my state school. It was a really humbling experience, but in the end it kind of worked out since I got a really good scholarship for my state school that let me graduate debt free. Moral of the story, please don’t compare yourself to your friends. Famous/Ivy uni’s are definitely not the end all be all especially if you have to take on massive student debt.
  • Thank you for making this video. I am absolutely scared shitless
  • Computer Organization kept me up at night. That class stressed me and kept me up at night. I'm still not good at Boolean Algebra. I got a B-. It might have been due to the fact it was the first COVID-19 semester where we were remote. I went to East Tennessee State University. I'm about to have my M.S., in Data Analytics, from ETSU, as well. Congratulations, BTW. Happy for you!!

This is great. I love the transparency. It reminds me of my own slacker self slogging through my computer engineering degree. Now I'm researching for our son (definitely a much better student than I ever was!). I will show him this video for inspiration. You have the right attitude. Bottom line: grades don't matter. Just learn something.

Thank you for recording this video. I'm glad that you were able to look back over your experience and realize that you may have needed to focus more in high school. However, don't beat yourself up too much because high school is the time when you are discovering who you are and what you like and want to do. It's never set in stone. I do have one request, though: don't say that you didn't get into a good school because Eastern Michigan is a very good school. It may not have been your top eight or nine choice, but there are people who have it as their number one choice because it is going to give them the education and experience if they want. Also, the ad that came on right after your video played for me was one from Audible. I thought you'd get a kick out of that. Thanks for the information and content!

Thank you for this video man!! I needed the reminder that Cs also get degrees

Great video man. Best of luck in the future.

Great video😍 Watching this from PNG. I started studying CS this year at UPNG.
  • Hey great video, Im in the UK and in my forties just started computing, given me some hope knowing even younger guys find it hard.

currently a student working towards my computer engineering degree, I have yet to actually take any CS or EE classes as all my courses are taken at my community college for a transfer degree ("Associate's in Pre-Engineering") but I am super excited to actually get started as I've always been curious about computer hardware and how it talks to itself and other hardware

I’m currently studying Computer Science at a university in germany and I’m amazed how big the differences in the degrees are. Here we have a Bachelors / Masters system and 95% of courses you take are Comp Sci related. I only go to (in total) 5 psychology lectures since we have to take a really small amount of non-compsci courses. Everything else is compsci (and math).

I went to umich for cs too! Go blue! Idk why I’m watching this but thank you for your transparency. I hope this helps future students.

Loved the video! I was engaged all the way through which is not always super common. I know you made a video on internships but could you also make a video diving deep into software jobs, what skills you use, and how to land a job?

UM is a great school, congrats! My mom went to Eastern Michigan University for her Masters and my dad went to UM Ann Arbor for his Ph.D.
  • I am currently a freshman at University of Michigan dual majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial and Operations. I can feel the rigor of University of Michigan now.

Most definitely- starting out strong, very strong , makes life much easier- 90% preparation, 10% implementation.
  • @Nxftqiue
    The beginning is so relateable

Just like me, going through my third year trying to get a internship and into events. Hopefully I’ll come up in top once I’m done !
