Speaking as someone who is (much) older than the internet , this is the sort of thing I appreciate most about it . I would never have been able to hear this interview and so many others that I've enjoyed but for the kind people who post these gems . Thanks for sharing !

"Bernard got him in the divorce" - Amazing. Haha.

Say what you want about his playing but he had his own unique sound. You can tell a hooky bassline a mile away.
  • Hooky is a brilliant writer too. Reading his book Unknown Pleasures: Inside Joy Division was like sitting down and sharing a pint with him. Couldn't put the book down
  • Love the comment about Bernard getting Johnny Marr in the divorce! Hooky is hilarious and his book Unknown Pleasures is brilliant.

Awesome. This just popped up in my YT feed, and now I’ve booked to go see Hooky in Bordeaux next year! A weekend by the sea and a great concert.

Such a lovely guy. Met him and the rest of New Order in Islington at the Synthesizer service centre years ago, when they were having their Moog Serviced. Was really down to earth and chatty.. much like he is here in this interview. Shame all the current and post members of New Order can't all shake hands. Life is too short, guys.

Have seen New Order many times between 1982 and 1990. Then saw the current New order line up in 2013 ... great sound but same songs you always expect from them. I've also seen Hook live twice (2011 - Unknown Pleasures) and 2013 (Movement and Power, Corruption, and Lies). Hooky was true to the original recordings and managed to get a great sound! Can't wait to see the Low Life/Brotherhood  show in 2014 November in Toronto.

I saw both the New Order show and the Peter Hook show within 6 weeks of each other....New Order was good....Hook show was great, the best club show I have seen in a decade

It's so sad that people feel they have to choose sides. Even sadder is the fact that eventually when they get older they'll probably look back and think….what the fuck did we do that for…what was all that about…the things you do in this life are usually  given their worth by the people you share them with and yet people can fall out over the stupidest of things (normally brass and egos)…..shame. Great Bands all of them !

Peter Hook may say that Movement was difficult, etc, but it produced - I think I'm right in saying - Procession, which is one of the all-time best tracks of all time. And a mere B-side!
  • Bloody awesome , baseline at the beginning of perfect kiss all-time seen them at Enmore theatre 86 Sydney bloody awesome
  • @blurr412
really, Chosen time has always been my favourite piece on Movement
