Rare horn in the US! Yamaha 6335RC Commercial Trumpet ACB Show and Tell with Trent Austin

What a smokin' horn!

This horn just came into the shop via trade and I just had to get a video up and running for everyone to check out!

Exclusive to the EU markets this is the first time I've seen one in the US personally. It's a great trumpet for sure!

Here are some quick specs on this one:

Light construction
ML bore: 11.65 mm
Reverse leadpipe type Y01
Bell diameter: 123 mm
One-piece valve body
Monel valves
Two-part gold brass bell with soldered bell rim
Plastic valve guides
Lightweight valve caps and finger depressors
Newly developed heavy-duty receiver
Gold lacquered

Also has a gold brass leadpipe!

Weighing in at a bit less than 2 lbs 5 ounces it's not a superlight horn but it's not heavy either. The Adams a1v2 weighs in at 2 lbs 6.2 ounces fyi. The sound shape is bright overall and has a lot of sparkle to it!

Initially I thought they might be nickel valves (as I mentioned in the video) but they are monel.

Fun horn! I'm using my ACB Custom reserve pieces on this clip. Click the link below for more info!

Some of the best Charlier I've heard you play. I don't think it was just the Yamaha trumpet...🙂 Thanks for your videos.

Accidentally I live near the Yamaha shop where this model was developed. I think it is mostly seen here for it’s especially good quality per cost ratio. However, for me it sounds too commercial, but that’s a matter of taste. I like the reverses leadpipe design which improves intonation because of the longer leadpipe.

As played by Louis Dowdeswell I believe. He doesn’t sound too bad on it 😂

Hi! It’s really easy to play. Any idea what horn would be similar but maybe with a darker sound? Thx

Does the 6335RC compare at all to the 4335 or are they completely different? I'm considering an upgrade but sadly I don't live close enough to test one. Nice playing as always!
