Former NFL Running Back Ricky Williams opens up to Ryan, Channing and Fred on all the mystery surrounding his former NFL career as he went from one of the league's best running back's to a man living off the grid.

Ricky tells the guys that playing in the league isn't for everyone and that it can be defined as crazy if you try to stay longer than your meant to be, even if your talent is at a high.

Channing gets Ricky to open up about some specific moments and takes the chance to call him out on some of his questionable stances he took in the league as well as off the field. From failing drug tests to dressing in women's clothing to his free spirit approach to his personal life.

The bond over the running back position between Fred and Ricky lead to talks about his incredible play on the field and the pace of him being one of the best rushers in the league and a hall of fame running back. Ryan poses the question, did the running back great leave the league far too soon before he really left his mark in the history books.

The guys switch gears and talk about opportunities with HBCU's, despite going to a predominantly white college, Ricky has become a major advocate for working with the colleges.

The Pivot Podcast releases new episodes every Tuesday at Noon eastern and special episodes on Fridays.

This interview went deeper than I imagined and extremely insightful… Such a refreshing podcast.. it honestly makes me feel like I’m at the barbershop with friends talking about life, goals and the good ol’ days.. the Pivot and these three men are to be protected at all times.. the conversations that are being held are next level knowledge

I love Ricky he is so humble and wise. Great interview guys

I'm not a "leave a comment" person, but this show deserves one and then some!!! As a fellow athlete I've never been able to explain how if felt. Ricky Williams explains it perfectly. This show is so relatable to anyone who has ever played sports, seen as the "rebel" and never had the chance to express themselves. Glad you guys stepped away from IAA and created this platform.

To: The Pivot Podcast I hope there is a part 2, because this conversation transcends football, and I could tell Ricky had more to say. It's sad that a black man is perceived as a liability when he is strong in his mind, intellect, sense of himself, and the values and standards he has for himself. Unfortunately, a lot of predominantly white institutions still only see the athletic ability young black males have as a commodity to make money for their respective institutions, and could care less about the men these athletes can and need to become. Kudos and bravo for another outstanding episode!!! Well done! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • I just started watching this episode and everyone on this show is solid. Channing is my guy. He always says whatever comes to mind. “RC, Rick is smarter than you” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂hilarious
  • I really appreciate that you let your guests be heard and not overpower conversation withinput. Camaraderie at its best! Good to see Ricky doing things his own way from the 40 acre days red H1

Ricky was dropping gems about college not preparing him to be an adult and how black athletes are fetishized at PWI & in the league lowkey. This episode needs a part 2 because Ricky's whole thought process needed to be expounded on & heard. I absolutely adore the admiration that was displayed btwn Ricky and Fred. That moment was so pure and beautifully captured that it might go over some ppl's head. That is a level of respect the average person seeks out on a daily basis & never gets. Great episode as always!

As someone who deals with major anxiety I can definitely appreciate this interview with Ricky Williams. I remember folks use to make fun of him wearing his helmet during interviews but I always had a feeling why he did it. Good interview and glad he's doing good for himself after football.
  • @bigsaleem
Proud of Ricky, man! He got to speak his mind amongst a crew with whom he's comfortable. Insightful.
  • I was already a fan of Ricky, but this gave me a whole new appreciation and respect for him as a man and a player. Did not expect this yet, I loved every minute of it. You guys are incredible for the strategic selections of your guests. Keep it up and thank you.
  • @JpHustler74
It was dope seeing Ricky feel comfortable to speak his mind. He seemed super relaxed.
  • Wow, the statement that Ricky Williams was mentioning about his university didn't prepare him for life was mindblowing but true in so many ways. I am an English Instructor at a college, and I always try to make sure my students understand that they are people first and students second. I want them to learn how to properly communicate through reading, writing, and speaking for their well-being in life. I always tell my students that "a good grade is wonderful and attainable, but learning how to use these skills will help you in life. If you can read properly and know how to convey a message through writing and speaking, it will be harder for people to take advantage of you in the corporate and real world." Being intelligent doesn't make you better than anyone. Intelligence is a tool to help guide you in life. I'm just trying to help young men and women know their worth and see their power through their words. I love watching The Pivot!

Huge fan of Ricky! As a lifetime Dolphins fan he needed to be in the Miami Dolphins ring of honor. Ricky has always brought the knowledge and was light years ahead of his time! Thank you for being us this awesome convo!
  • Actually hearing the guests response to questions they are asked w out constant interrupting is awesome! The hosts aren't constantly comparing their stories to the guests is also refreshing...best podcast out right now!!
  • @wadesloan
Man I never heard this side of Ricky Williams, crazy how the media can make people out as someone they are not. Dope episode!
  • @sani1681
I love the consistency and quality of what they bringing to the world.
  • @rosecityy8137
I love when it feels like a conversation instead of a interview. Some guests are legendary but cannot hold a conversation. This was gold
  • @otflucas6060
Mannn this one really hit, when I was a junior in high school 4 years ago I failed a drug test… I lead my the conference in tackles and was defensive player of the week 4 out of 5 games, I took in everything he said best one yet for me 💯💯

Ricky would be the perfect Candidate as the fourth member of the pivot podcast. His perspective of life and unique wisdom would fit well.
