Willem was 46 when he did the 2002 Spider-Man film. And now he is 66 and still manage to give the same Goblin performance phenomenally in No Way Home he killed it once more!
-
I like how Norman is just like “Oh” when he realizes he messed up
-
The fact that no “epic” soundtrack is playing while the fight goes down. Just adds the raw & gritty element to it. And I fucking love it
-
"Peter, don't tell Harry" Defoe delivered this line perfectly.
-
After watching No way home I can't believe how visceral, brutal and perfect this fight is, almost 20 years apart and still incredible as heaven
-
The moment Peter blocks Goblin's spear and Goblin realizes "I've been trying to kill this guy and he's been holding back the whole time" Epic
-
Norman: Don’t tell Harry. Peter: I missed the part where that’s my problem.
-
0:58 the sound of spidermans web like a metal fence. That was a great detail to show the web strength!
-
You don't see fights like this often nowadays. Up close and personal. The last time I felt a fight this personal was Cap vs Iron Man in Civil War. I hope Goblin and Ock give Holland a beating like they did Maguire.
-
0:38 The squeal to frontflip punch really butters my bread
-
4:29 I love the detail of Peter somberly lowering his head, as if he realizes that his best friend Harry will now have to live without a father and he could never quite explain to him why
-
You can actually hear his voice slightly change when norman gets pulled back under by the goblin. Take a good listen at 3:00, his voice changes midway through the sentence
-
This whole scene is amazing, it has it all Drama, action, a little bit of horror and some hillarious moments.
-
After Goblin pushed the “Mary Jane” button, he couldn’t handle fighting Peter any longer. In No Way Home, Goblin was taking Holland’s punches head on in the apartment. Goblin even laughed in Tom’s face at how the punches weren’t phasing him. The one mistake Goblin made was pushing the “Aunt May” and “Mary Jane” button when he could’ve easily killed Peter (in Spiderman 1 and No Way Home).
-
“I could never hurt you…” has thrown bombs at him and beat the crap out of him.
-
Nothing will EVER beat this fight for me. The screams tobey let’s out are so believable, and the slow mo shots of his lips flapping after he gets punched. I love this movie dearly.
-
This fight proves you don’t need blood and gore for a fight to be brutal. You just need to make the audience feel every strike and blow.
-
Never really realized how Norman is honestly handing Peter his ass during this fight. I mean, we all know how it ends, but Norman's really giving it to him here. I feel like the two have roughly the same amount of fighting skill, but the Goblin formula is really giving Norman an edge here.

Willem Dafoe is a legend. The Green Goblin is the best villain in the Spiderman franchise.

0:56 People who were shocked how strong he was in NWH never watched the original. Look how easily he ripped his web apart
