Your channel is so underrated. You give such valuable advice. For me, it was also very important to declutter ruthlessly and actually wear my favourite clothes. Now I often feel I have enough and don't want to buy something. My standards are very high now.

Agree with you on the selling items aspect. I realized when selling , no matter what, used clothes are almost worthless, even the expensive stuff.

For me a GIANT wakeup call was tracking my money. I have my own business and like a classic creative person, I wasn't really keeping track of how much I earned. Then one day I sat down and really looked at my figures over the last year and I hadn't realised just how much I earn; and I barely have anything to show for it. I felt sick to my stomach as I couldn't account for thousands and thousands that went on clothing. Plus I work at home and really don't have the need for that much clothing at all. I was buying for my fantasy self. I also put a lot of it on Ebay and felt the pain of earning back about a third of what I spent - many items still had the tags on them. Yes that pain was necessary and after MANY attempts of stopping impulsive shopping, that was what turned it around for me. I also started focussing a lot on more creative hobbies so that I wasn't watching influencers on Youtube who would be tempting me. Now that I have decluttered I look at what's left with such a sense of satisfaction; as I kept the very best and absolutely love everything that I have - and I'm WEARING it rather than chasing after some new thing.
  • Kim, this is a really great video and I think you are spot on when you say that feeling a little bit of pain and shame for money wasted is healthy. I have experienced this myself. When I started seeing that it can be really challenging (AND time consuming ) to resell the items I brought into my closet without consideration, it really made me evaluate the item more carefully BEFORE I brought it home. Now it has to be a 10 😊🤩 your content is awesome, keep up the good work 💪🏻

❤love this video! Spot on and so helpful. I am an impulse shopper and real key for me is not to go shopping at all because if I go shopping, I buy! Shopping became a part of my entertainment! I started following decluttering and minimalist videos and that has helped me lose the desire to shop. Your videos have helped me immensely. I am gonna put this one on repeat because some lessons need to be reinforced many times before the habit can be changed.

I love the tip of writing the date on the beauty product of when you start using it, thank you!🙏 💄

Your videos are the most helpful decluttering and organizing videos that I have seen, by far. Your focus on trying to get to the underlying issues as to WHY we accumulate and keep buying is spot on and so helpful…I really love your mind-set strategies! Our clothing styles couldn’t be more different, but that does not matter, I really appreciate your content, thank you 💕

I smiled through your video, I have kids, so I don’t have that much time on my hand to be thinking of my clothes, just every season I think about getting rid of old stuff and I do t shop much anymore or at all. I used to impulse shop a lot but now working from home changed everything. Good job putting all those points together specially for shopping addicts people 😊❤
