  • I love this. I’m constantly decluttering but always feel like I’m missing something so I end up purchasing without any plan so learn how to shop for those gaps is a game changer.

The BEST video on decluttering a closet, hands down!!!! I started doing the Kon Mari method and gradually started accumulating a maybe pile, but how brilliant to think of writing everything down to really narrow it down! Brilliant!!!!

I have watched so many decluttering videos and I have to say that this is the absolute best. I am 64 and I have been into fashion since Twiggy and I have always declutter the way you explained. I tried every item on. Thank you for making this video and I'm so glad I found you!

I moved out to one room aparment and I had to match all my clothes to closet: 1.1m width and 2.8m height. I thought that it is impossible but thanks to this experience I'm happy. Decluttered made me happy that I could get rid of clothes which remind me about bad memories. Now I have space for creating the wardrobe which I love :)
  • Thank you Kim! I love this more scientific approach to de-cluttering & better understanding your style. You should maybe consider attaching a PDF with those all-important questions you've listed so viewers have a ready-to-use resource?

I forgot to mention two things: - also write down what kind of metals or hardware are there in your items, or if there is none at all (very useful to have!) - and another reason why we want to do this in categories is to see the different preferences we have when it comes to different categories (e.g. you may like colourful tops, but prefer neutral bottoms - which is again very useful when shopping) And if you want to organise your closet like a pro, watch this next: https://youtu.be/a-TFbunklsQ 😘❤

My only wardrobe is built-in and small but has everything in it: clothes, bedding, towels, shoes etc. even two bags of stuffed animals so I really have to keep it organized. I understand now why I don't wear certain clothes. These will be taken to our local animal shelter, they receive money for each kilogram. Thank you so much for your video :D

I loved it. I have an excel file where I record my garments for the last 5 months. I collect some of the same questions, but your data is much more valuable such a comfort level and how it makes me feel etc. I will update the file tomorrow with some of your questions. This is how I do it, in case someone finds some parts of it useful. I have created a file in a table format with all the clothes categories and all of my garments (date of purchase if knows, price, color, fabric, pattern etc). Everytime I wear an item, I record it. After a 3 month of a season passed, I look at what I wore the most and analyze the items to see why I preferred them. Then, I analyze what I did not wear and why. Extremely useful.
  • With the items I keep/put in maybe, I will try on everything in the wardrobe with it. For example, if i have a pair of pants, i will try it on with every single top, no matter how sceptical I am to whether it will look good or not. Through this method I have found a lot of new combinations and ways to wear items I used to think were difficult to wear. It helps me feel a lot more creative and opens my mind to what I really like.

Funny! This is almost exactly how I do it! Except: I start by "keep" or "maybe keep" vs. "not keep", which saves me the work of writing things down for what I won't keep anyway. But then again, it could be useful to know what you don't want to keep, to know not to buy it again. I guess I've done that in my mind for most of my life, which makes shopping easier: "No, not my colour!", "Acrylic. NO WAY!!!" "No turtleneck." Etc.etc.etc. (I'm 47 years old. I wasn't like that at the age of 15.) ❤ /Sara

👗i am excited by this Kim! I have done several declutters over the past year but I can't wait to try this one. I have a feeling it will get me the beautifully curated closet I want and a very appropriate minimal shopping list.

I love your approach to decluttering and how thorough it is. You have inspired me to do this. Thank you.
  • @annesmith1535
Brilliant! Thank you, this is what has been missing for me, and why I keep making similar mistakes when I've decluttered my wardrobe. Can't wait to try this out!
  • @YayaX-xn9tn

I’m watching almost all of your videos while I declutter my closet, it’s helping a lot, given me motivation and ideias. I’m in the second day, and hope to finish it today. The video you did telling your story about being a “ shopaholic “ i related so much, but like you, I got in a point where I don’t really know what I have, and always fell like I have nothing to wear. Thank you for all the knowledge, I’m really feeling so much better now that I’m cleaning the past and the bagged that don’t suit me anymore - and some that never had-. I’m now a new follower and expect to watch you channel grow, cause I now it will, you content is unique and I don’t see often around. 😘
