  • There’s a reason I only buy used cars. You drive 99.5% of new cars off the lot and lose thousands INSTANTLY!!
  • Have you checked the depreciation on the Land Rover Defender? Maybe you should do a video on that…. Actually while you’re at it, check out how much BMWs, Audis, MBs etc depreciate.
  • I’m sure Elon Musk is going to dislike this Video.😂
  • I bought model y long range for 54k in Jan 2023, now the same brand new one is 37k, this made me wanna cry.
  • Yeah Ben! Because nobody thats bought a Dodge/Ram/Chrysler in the last 100 years was every burried they just let em get repoed!

It should be important to note that depreciation is not because it’s a bad car…it’s because the price of new ones was lowered which impacted used ones. A 2021 Model Y was the first gen. Worst of the worst for Tesla. It was massively improved in the following 2 years. Also, it’s the best selling car in the World.

That was the pre minor refresh / comfort suspension changes. Build qualities on Teslas are a lot better now. My 2023 Model Y with 23,000 miles has no squeaks, rattles, or creaks and rides well. I rented a 2021 Model Y from Hertz and like you, I thought it was a bucket of bolts. I was surprised at how much the brand has improved build quality in just a few years.
  • I know someone with a 75D model S and it looks and runs perfect. But the guy takes car of his cars and the Y you are showing in the video looks like its in shit shape.. so no wonder. Also, the last thing is when driving EVs you hear so much more road noise etc because of the car itself being silent.
  • This vehicle has been modestly customized. The Tesla badging is missing. Resale depreciation is not that terrible. Many $45,000+ CUVs that are 2021 MY are selling for mid 20's assuming 40,000 miles or so.
  • You can buy a brand new 2024 long range Y for $39,000 with 1.99% financing for 72 months. You'd have to be in that used one for about $20k but to get the $4k on a used EV its gotta be under $25k
  • Seems like many Tesla owners resort to wraps because there are so many Teslas on the road and all the models look the same IMO and come in just a few stock colors.
  • You do a review on Honda crv see how much depreciate or how it held up 😂
  • A little MISLEADING using the short lived inflated COVID pricing and a purple wrap(YUCK). I bought a new 2023 MY AWD for 34.5k (under $40k out the door) with fed rebate and inventory discount. The best price for a "used" 2023 with under 20k miles is currently about $32k pre-tax. So not quite as bad as people think if you wait for a good deal(no squeaks so far and ride/comfort was improved in late 2022).
  • used tesla is a good value, just be people are greedy and trying to make up for what they spent on the car new.
  • Thank you Ben. I enjoy this series on depreciated vehicles. It would be interesting to see your take on a Dodge Challenger/Charger SRT Hellcat. According to Autotrader there are still over 1,000 of these new 2023 models. Several dealerships are attempting to pillage customers with a $50K markup. Unbelievable? Some dealerships have $10K discounts. That seems low considering that the floor financing is likely adding up quickly. Could you test a 2019 or 2020 since there are so many new 2023 models for sale?
