VISITING VANDERBILT MUSEUM IN LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK

I’ve been going here since I was about 4 years old. I don’t live in NY anymore but we went 2/3 times a year growing up exploring all of it..we extensively explored the grounds for all those years and I still sense there is more undiscovered. During late teen years and college years I’d drive out as often as I could..always making time for a trip on days off work and school or school breaks that I was able to travel home for. I cannot believe there are car shows and functions in the house..I feel like this is a sacred place, historically and also for its intrigue, a place that highlights the ocean, the forest..even though the mansion and other features are not modest they do not overshadow the grounds..one is transported to this peaceful fairytale like place that magically amplifies all I adore about LI. I haven’t visited in New York, but I will when I go! I love the Vanderbilt history. I live in NC so I frequent the George Vanderbilt Biltmore Estate in Asheville all the time. This would be right up my alley! I’m putting it on my list of places to go! ✅

This place is SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL we are going on vacation to new York this year so I'll definitely be trying to find this place !
