  • One of my Mother's favourites. Beautifully performed. Brings tears to my eyes. She is in Heaven.
  • Don't listen to the people talking trash. That kind of spirit doesn't belong in the piping community. Your pipes sounded great and your playing was clean. With all the actually terrible piping going around on youtube, you are a breath of fresh air. Keep on piping!
  • Agree with Jonathan Chambers. You're a proud Scotsman! Just go on and be yourself. Salute and respect!!!
  • This will be piped at my husband's funeral on 24th July 2023. I am listening to it now. It is the very tune he sang to our three beloved children when they were babies to get them to sleep. There is a symmetry in my soul when I listen to this. Thank you.
  • I heard this when staying Dolgellau (North Wales) one Sunday morning, it moved me on a deep & meaningful level. I remember tears running down my cheeks but I had no idea why.
  • To whoever this young man is: you play excellently. And to whoever filmed this: beautiful cinematography. This touches my soul, and as a piper myself who many a time has wondered to the sea or up in the cliffs to play, I will never tire of hearing the pipes.

Absolutely phenomenal piping sound and well pitched. Blaring bass sound of old Hendersons.

My dad was buried and marches to his grave with this tune by my wee nephew who is a piping prodigy.. I miss my dad so much and he did so much for Scottish music and musicians and charities.. His name was Donald mackay Smith and his band was donny and Diane's Highland ceilidh band, and his studio was called Smith Mearns recordings.. Lovely playing btw, and nicely recorded..

Fantastic. God bless ye for not having any band accompaniment and just a lone, beautiful PIPER. Ready, aye ready.

Played at my mother's funeral. Always reminded her of going up to Tighnabruaich on the ferry on a Sunday day out.

Well played lad. That’s my favourite pipe tune. My son is currently learning the pipes and I’m looking forward to hearing him play Dark Island. 👍

I've been playing about 30 years, and competitive in Grade 2 in the US. So i'm pretty good, but not top. He sounds just fine. I think his drones and chanter sound excellent. Who cares if he calls himself Master? It's just the name of his channel people.

As a Licentiate of London College of Music I thought this was delightful, great tone and nice intonation, thank you for taking the time to share your creative spirit with your fellows 🙂

Thank you for this. A ballad like this should be interpreted on every instrument that mankind can play. And it has a lot to say. I'm from Western, Pennsylvania and This lone bagpipe version. Is beautiful. I totally feel the power of this music.
