My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We see over 2,000 pieces of small engine equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. We specialize in brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Echo and Shindaiwa, but work everyday on MANY other brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Craftsman, Remington, Red Max, Troy Bilt, Scag, Bad Boy, Hustler, World Lawn, Poulan, Mantis, Etc.. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!

  • Lifting the back worked like a charm, thank you so much!!! I'm newly divorced and new to yard work. I was so frustrated and felt defeated because I couldn't get the lawnmower started and your video saved me...literally! So thank you for sharing.
  • OMG, seriously!?!? I just spent my entire day working on my mower to get it started resulting in not even a sputter. After seeing this video, I went outside at 8:30 pm and tried lifting it upright and giving it a little shake. Started right up! You are awesome! Thanks.
  • @raemissy7701
Bought a yard machine at the pawn shop a few days ago, it would start then cut off got frustrated and started calling repair shops then I found you. Thank you saved me 85 bucks. Lawnmower started right up finish cutting small yard in 15 mins. Had to take a break before edging. Thank you!
  • Your video totally gave me the Victory over getting my mower Started, after 3 days of watching YouTube videos, taking the carburetor off a couple of times, replacing the spark plug, Kicking the damn thing...... just to watch this video where you instruct to lift the mower ALL the way UP!!! It was not until then, that my Mower Started. And I got the pleasure of finally cutting my grass for the first time this season. THANK YOU!!!
  • @darlenek8498
I thought I wasn't strong enough to get the mower running. But your tilt tip was the trick!!! It had been sitting for a while. Thank you so much!
  • @PkGam
6:58: I'm really glad you showed that because I was going to mention that trick if you didn't. Came' across that by accident when it wouldn't start one spring and we were tipping it to access stuff to check. When it started, we were like: "What changed?" Well, I remembered that we tipped it that other spring and tried that for kicks wondering if that may have done it, sure enough it got running! I didn't know "why" that worked (Well, at least until you explained it here, lol! Thank you!) as I don't know much about engines, but it was consistently working.
  • @lujeana
I had changed the oil, put new gas in, checked the carb and nothing. I picked up the back and shook and it started up the first pull. You're a Goddess!!
  • @mistyvideotaped
Thank you thank you thank you! My mower was only sitting without use for 2 weeks and I couldn’t get it to start. I thought it was the spark plug but after I replaced it, it still wouldn’t start. I was about to have a melt down thinking how am I going to get it in my car to have someone fix it and take a day off work because no one around here is open on weekends and the one mobile repair guy isn’t available until 2 weeks from now, meanwhile the grass is getting taller and I’m anticipating the HOA violation letter... Praise the universe I found your video, lifted it up and presto it started. Life saver! 😊
  • THANK-YOU. I have never ever had difficulty starting my mowers after leaving them over winter. Set the choke, set the throttle etc, pull, start... but last summer I had to get a new push mower and I opted for the new no choke easy pull ... and left it all winter like usual. When it wouldn't start I thought, "Crud! I got replace the fuel." I saw your video on treatment on a shut off valve - good to know - but, that didn't help.... But, before I headed out to drain the old fuel I saw this video. I ran out and tried it. I had to tip it up a few times.... it would start and then run out of gas... and finally it started flowing... and working. You are my hero!
  • @honeybee6154
Yup, I did it, I put my mower away all winter with gas still in the tank. 🤫 Couldn't get it started but I did your trick and it started right up!!! 👍👏👏👏👏👏
  • By lifting my mower, it started after trying several days. Once it started, I didn't want to stop to take a break or nothing. Thank you for that amazing tip.
  • @jacobkeen4585
I don't usually comment on videos, but after trying ABSOLUTELY everything, your starting trick mentioned at the end fixed my issue! You're a life saver!
  • @petes9122
Great tip ! Worked perfectly. My B & S Tr110 sat all winter but in a garage. Used it in March and almost ran it out of gas. Put gas in and used it again in early May. Wouldn’t start. Let it sit for a while so the gas would seep in but still wouldn’t start. Nothing else was amiss (it’s fairly new) and I tried rocking it back and forth to free the float - no success. Then I viewed this video and tried the “secret tip” of tilting up the mower perpendicular to the ground and shaking it a little. Success ! Started right up and ran perfectly. So many thanks to the maker of this video !
  • @dnbibbo2248
I have the same Toro mower and haven't been able to start it for weeks. I took your advice and lifted the mower to nose down the front end into the ground and it started up immediately. Thanks for the advice!!!!
  • @mrsclfb9697
😃 IT WORKED!! Thank you! Then I went to the Wal to get a new air filter... Almost $7.00 for a little piece of sponge!!! So I went to the back and bought a car wash sponge for $2.88 and cut one out. Fits perfectly and I have enough sponge left over for 3 more.
  • @Pam100358
Thanks a Million, my Mower was cutting out after 10/15 seconds and after watching your Tip re lifting up the machine-Hey Presto my Mower started straight away. Many Thanks from Glasgow-Scotland.
  • @almclean4835
I started my mower two weekends ago. Started first time too, I ran it dry before I stored it away. A first for me!
  • @user-it6le3iq3y
Tried this today and it works like a charm. Pure GENIUS!!😀
