This is the same mentality that causes gamblers to keep putting money forth (sunk cost fallacy), and he's clearly manipulating people psychologically. Obviously it isn't a scam until false promises are made, which he clearly does, so I hope he eventually gets what is coming to him. I've seen him a few times myself but really never saw him talk, so this was very enlightening.
