I used the same generator for the Texas Hurricane, it ran great ran the HVAC and multiple other items well worth the money spent.

I just bought a Westinghouse! I need this whole set up 😮‍💨

Awesome. I just ordered the Westinghouse 12500 TriFuel. We only lost power for about 6 hours but I’m gonna do a setup like this. Thanks for sharing. Hope you it served you well. No damage for us just some loose fence posts.

Still a nice layout, I like the little transfer switch. I still have to haul mine out to set it up. We run nat gas as our main supply and have propane as our backup so I don’t have to keep gasoline around. Just empty cans and a battery siphon pump to pull fuel out of the cars if we need it. ✌️

Got the same generator a week before Beryl hit. Luckily had about 11break-in hrs. on it before I lost power. Did note a few discrepancies in owners manual. On page 29 it says NOT to use a resistor type spark plug but in the quick start guide it lists resistor type spark plugs as substitutes. Very nice installation my only concern is the exhaust fan drawing hot engine and generator head cooling air exhaust to the generator head cooling air intake.

Timely update. My BiL was showing me his new generator and I thought of your older video.

good deal was looking to up grade to tri fuel, I have the full hook up to the house and soft start on my 4ton. But this should do just fine.. didn't know about the spark plug though..thank you sir.. Just went through Beryl also, 8 days without power. Generator power to whole house, was just looking for natural gas hook for long outages.. 👍👍

That is really a slick set-up. Do you have an installation/build video? Any insight on details on installation - who did the gas and electrical work or maybe DIY, do you have a soft start on your AC, etc - would be greatly appreciated. I hope Beryl wasn't too bad to you; some of my work colleagues in SL and Sienna have really had a bad time. I was lucky up here in Katy, only dark and hot for 14 hours, just enough time for the ice cream in the freezer to get soft. Seeing how bad it's been for so many others I'm developing a serious back up power plan and you've really provided an inspiring vision.

I just bought this model after Beryl and lost power for a week. Can't wait to set it up and not use it for 5 years. Houstonians you can thank me later 😂
  • @treepizzle
Bet that’s coming in handy right now! I need one as well.
  • @mikeh.8155
I would only use gasoline as a last resort.....natural gas runs much cleaner and has zero of the negative effects vs gasoline....of course less power with NG but its worth it!!!!

Great video and set up. Did you have to change the bonded neutral to a floating neutral on the generator to use the 50 amp connection via your interlock kit? In the WGen11500TFc instruction manual, it doesn't appear that the 50 amp plug on the generator is GFCI protected like the 120v plugs.
  • What is the peak temps you were getting in the shed reading off your sensors?
  • @condor5635
please explain in a little more detail how you automatic transfer switch works. I think i heard you just have the manual interlock in your garage. So if that is true and you have the FOB to start this up, where does the Automatic 110v Transfer Switch come into play? Nice set up. Thanks.

Hey! How's this working out for you after Hurricane Beryl? I'm in the Houston area and we lost power. I'm so tired of losing power. I at least want to run my fridge and some fans. I can live with the heat or cold.
  • Hey. This is great. How did you set up the box/shed outside? Is this something available on AMZN or you have to customize it? Is it helping to reduce the sound ?
  • @Ender_Wiggin
Hope you are going fine. Been without power for 5 days
  • @modsquad8u
That's a really sweet setup. I'm still without power from Beryl myself. My only observation is that your setup is pretty low for the Houston area, granted you could be on a lot that has zero issues with flooding, I just hope that was a consideration since I see those electrical hookups on the right side of the enclosure are pretty low. Thanks for the inspiration, I was just thinking of what I could do to enclose my generators and that's a good idea to use that Rubermaid or similar minished.
