  • My crazy story. 64 years old, don’t drink, don’t smoke, no recreational drugs. Last year got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Ductal Adenocarcinoma which ranks as one of the top two deadliest cancers a human can get. So a 9 1/2 hour surgery, 9 day hospital stay, followed up with 6 months of chemotherapy and I’m now after my first post chemotherapy treatments cancer free. Keep fighting for the cure.
  • I quit sodas more than 20 years ago, and my blood pressure was back to normal within 2 weeks. Gave up anything that has an ingredients list I can't pronounce. Dropped salt about the same time. Quit sugar 10 years ago - honey is my only sweetener. I'm now 75, haven't needed to see a doctor in years, and am disgustingly healthy with low blood pressure, good circulation and no worries. Only shop the outer edge of a supermarket, read every lable, and focus on non-GMO, organic, and home-grown food for a better life.
  • I grew up dirt poor living off pinto beans and collard greens! It was seven kids! We got eggs from the henhouse! No sodas, ice cream or Diary Queen for us. I've carried that life style over into old age. At 75 my pipes are clean.

I appreciate how Lewis doesn’t act like he knows everything his guest is saying. Shows the utmost respect and interest in the content and therefore asks all the pertinent questions. Great host.

I drink water mostly and eat as healthy as possible. I am pushing 70 and have no health problems. I make sure to help people, sing (to myself), and laugh all the time. It seems to work. My doctor told me she wished she could be as healthy as me. Loving your life is important for your health.

Dr. Li you are inspirational, as a 88 year okd Scottish lady I salute you😀
  • I'm glad he talked about the fact that health care does not start in the Doctors office. I'm from Jamaica 🇯🇲, my granuncles one of them just died a few months ago....age 104........the second one still living. Walking to church by himself at 103......we don't eat your balonies, we eat lots and lots of earth grown foods. My dad died recently at 98......My friends Aunt still living at 102......Thats why I'm heading back home to retire. I will live longer.....its just a given....

    1. Ultra-processed foods (the ones with tons of ingredients you can’t pronounce…) 2. Processed meats (lunch meats, etc) 3. Soda (regular and diet) It’s a super valuable/interesting episode… explains the science and the why behind it and also the stuff you should ADD to your diet.
  • I am in total agreement with Doctor Li suggestion to skip breakfast. Breakfast is simple you breaking your night of fasting. The longer you fast, the more the benefits. If you fast for 18 hours are more, your body goes in a state called autophagy. Autophagy is cellular repair/regeneration.

I just want to start off by saying I was so sick with diabetes high blood pressure and thyroid cancer was on insulin for my diabetes I was taking 6 pills a day I started looking up what I can do to fix my health so I started Intermittent Fasting I tried 12 hours at first it was very hard I also was 300 pounds so I was used to eating breakfast lunch and dinner plus I was snacking all day long after 6 months of fasting 12 hours a day I was eating in a 12 hour window then I started to see I wasn’t hungry for breakfast so I skipped breakfast then was not eating lunch and after a while I felt so good so I went to a 20 fast with eating food in a 4 hour window and that would be just dinner and a couple of snacks after that I lost 100 pounds only take medicine for my thyroid it’s the best thing I ever did for my life I’m also not diabetic no more life is good 😁

My grandparents are over 100yrs old. They eat tomatoes daily. Go figure. They also eat ice cream before bed and drink Pepsi like water. But they move around everyday and get a workout still running their cattle ranch.

Dr. Li is so good. He explains the WHY which help so much!! Also "Eat, move, sleep, smile": eat healthy food, exercise, get enough rest, strive to do what makes you happy!! Also I think valuing yourself more will make you want to take better care of yourself. Thank you Dr. Li and Louis for this video!!

When I was young and soooo soooo many were doing drugs... My response was NO not interested... I want to be the ONLY ONE in Control of MY Mind and Body!!!
  • @jeandixon586
I particularly loved Dr Li's discussion on fruit! Other YouTube doctors go on and on about fruit in a negative way, almost demonising fruit ("character assassination") and of course pushing the keto diet. This is a breath of much-needed fresh air - thank you.
