BikePacking Coast to Coast. #bikepacking

I met up with Ian again to do what will probably be our last cycling trip of this year, and what a great 4 days we had . We were having a late heatwave and dry spell after the wet summer we have had, so the plan was to meet at Darlington ride to the coast ( Saltburn-By-The-Sea) then catch a train back to Darlington pick up the trail again and head west. And steadily ride west riding through Durham , the Dales and Lancashire and heading for Hest Bank to complete our coast to coast .

  • Love your trips, makes me homesick for UK cycling again, as an expat abroad myself! I will keep watching!

He you started your journey at my local station, nice ride buddy. Most of my trips are usually just going around the town (<20 miles, route in on Komoot [same nick]). Love it buddy, peddle on.

2 minutes to put up a tarp fellas . Especially with you both sharing the task. It would keep the dew off you and make you feel more comfortable. Never mind though, a good vid. Thanks.

Nice one. I probably won’t have time to do any touring until next year.

just come across your channel this evening, like the relaxed style and good views - great trip looked a good craic 2 lads out on the bikes with a few bivies what more do you need! Have done the coast to coast along the wall many times, always prefer doing it the other way west to east though due to the wind/rain generally coming in. This looked a great route more to the south, as for the midge's i think last summer was the worst its ever been for them, was wick in certain parts. Safe travels.

Great video Dave and thanks for sharing, bikes are life!

Great video. Really enjoyed it. Just wondered what gearing you have on your bike (given the weight of stuff you have to carry)? Also, have you ever had any issues getting on trains with your bike, any tips about using the trains? Cheers

Great stuff👍. Your making me feel lazy - I need to get back on the bike again (when it eventually stops raining)
