A #BikePacking Mini Adventure.

Published 2024-05-10
Join me on this mini adventure as I set off from home and head to the local hills for a quick overnight camp, and take in the views along the way visiting a couple of old churches.
With a short weather window of sunshine and relatively warm temps I make the most of my days off.
Just remember you don’t need to travel far to do a BikePacking trip, if time is an issue short overnight trips to local haunts will just be as fulfilling, and are a great way of testing your setup for longer trips.

You have a good tent, it is a decent 3 season shelter. No need to worry about the rain, I’ve been using it awhile and I just love it.
  • Great film of your micro adventure mate, really made we want to be out bikepacking again!, tent looks like a tardis for room, but doesn’t take up much space, nice design, catch you on the next one ⛺️🚲👍🏻

Nice video Dave, Nice drone shots, nice tent:) I think these small micro adventures are what I am going to be doing more of, I would love to do big miles and multi days, but dogs and family commitments say otherwise!
  • @chargingabout
Great to see you in the forest where I normally get out to! Both roads now open as of yesterday.
  • Nice video Dave, first time I've come here to your channel. Being from Australia (East side) I've always admired the English Countryside and while the roads are generally narrower, there's always beautiful hedges and cobblestone fences as you go past and the History there is amazing, the old churches and tombstones, the undulations of the landscape and no wonder it's always green over there with the amount of rain you get although on saying that, Eastern Australia has copped a decent dumping over the past 3 years causing flood issues in certain parts. Little bicycle adventures are something I want to do once i sort out some camping kit because i'm tired of all you lucky people having all the fun lol. New subscriber here......cheers!!
  • good to have them tried & tested locations dave especially with a water source 👍 loving this weather (but not the midge's 😏) moan moan 🤣

Sad times we live in Dave, churches locked.
  • @Bikepacking
I WONDER HOW THAT TENT HOLDS UP IN STRONG WIND

Do you ever think of putting your bike onto a train. Then cycling back home from your destination? I think it beats a circular ride from your home. It’s a great way of touring the U.K. or England even. Wales in my case. Thanks for sharing.
  • Loved this micro adventure. Important to seize the opportunity and get creative.

Nice video, I have the big agnes bikepacking version with the short poles. Great tent only used it on two overnighters. At 70 bikepacking isn't for me. Think it'll be up for sale shortly, B&Bs for me now.

Nice one Dave, what a great way to get away from it all, if only for one night. another great wee video, thanks for taking us along. ATB Big Dave
  • The borders are fantastic, given the right weather. Nice tent. I'm packed ready to go.
