I want to get a budgie lmaooo update: I got a budgie his name is Banjo

Parakeets can get arthritis from standing on a stick like that and can get very lonely if your not there alot so be careful to adjust the stick a bit

I played music for my bird when he was in the box to calm him down and he started dancing

I have 15 budgies now. I started off with 2 in like June. And now I have 15. 😂😂

The cage is too small and you need to have more than dowel perches, like natural wood. Budgies need a flight cage so they have more space. It's also easier if you put paper towels at the bottom of the cage. The dowel perches can give them arthritis and foot problems. You also need more toys to keep them happy. You also shouldn't use plastic dishes because they can build up diseases and mold faster.

I have 6 budgies it’s always best to get two at the beginning it helps them to be friendly and social, I hope you’re little boy is nice😇

something I would suggest for your bird is definitely getting natural perches instead of dowel to prevent arthritis, bumbel foot, and irritation. Something also good for foots is platform perches to give your birds feet a rest. Another really important thing that people don't really think matters but putting the food and water higher makes them feel so much more comfortable. I know a lot of the time people aren't able to get a bigger cage but as long as you are taking him out for some hours a day like 4 that's just so much better and having plenty of toys. Your boy seems like he's in good hands!🙂

So I don’t recommend putting Millet in there cage it’s full of calories so it’s more of a reward and used better for training.

Lol just got my first budgie today...the thing I noticed most in this video is how your dog has his bed in the corner and knows he has to stay on until he’s allowed to come off. I absolutely love it. My cane corso is trained to do the same thing! Dog owners that know how to train a dog make me sooo happy. I wish there were more of them out there!

Bondbeautys, I understand this video is clearly like from months ago, and I don't know if you have updated your birds cage or not, but I'd recommend getting some textured more natural perches for your bird. Birds can develop feet problems with just basic branches.

sorry not trying to be rude but the dowels u have arent good for their feet u need different sizes and that arent smooth so it dosent hurt their little feet🥺

I love parakeets. I do agree you should begin to work with your bird after he or she calms down, usually after 24 hours. Persistence and consistency are the keys. Never force. And take them out everyday for flight.

I’m so glad your husband suggested that, you should never let your bird “settle in”, all it does is reconfirm their fear of the cage being their only safe space and the outside world being a place full of new, strange, and terrifying things. The quicker you socialize with them the better.
