The 2022 FIFA World Cup (2022 كأس العالم لكرة القدم‎) will be the 22nd FIFA World Cup competition. It is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022. This will be the first World Cup ever to be held in the Arab world, and it will be the second World Cup held entirely in Asia after the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan. The tournament will also be the last to involve 32 teams, with an increase to 48 teams scheduled for the 2026 tournamenta. France are the reigning World Cup champions. Due to Qatar's intense summer heat, this World Cup will be held from late-November to mid-December, making it the first tournament not to be held in May, June, or July.

    Would have preferred high capacity stadiums like those in USA 94 , Germany and South Africa 2010. The atmosphere of huge crowds certainly contributed to the elevation and the game .

    I think it would be much smarter if they was organized the championship together with the UAE, Kuwait and maybe Bahrain.I assume that most stadiums are designed for multi-purpose use and that the stadiums themselves have a secondary purpose,but I still think that building so many stadiums is too inefficient for such a small country.

    Stadiums built on blood. Qatar is rich enough to waste hundreds of millions of euros on PSG every year, but wouldn't spend to grant safe and decent conditions to their workers. I won't watch this world cup, it would feel like being part of this total disregard for thousands of human lives.

    I am from Poland and it would be nice to play there on such beautiful stadiums during the Qatar 2022 World Cup! We will probably play in play-offs, win play-offs and go to Qatar next year.
