I hopped on the "escape the matrix" bandwagon 2 months ago - and it has been an incredibly eye opening and transformative period of my life. I didn't have a job lined up when I quit so I have been getting creative with making an income (which I will share in future videos), but most importantly, I've been forced to dive inwards and unlearn a lot of what capitalism taught us.

thank you for being on this journey with me.

i quit my 9-5 five cuz it was back breaking. i was to exhausted to focus on my hobby in the evening and im geting older so i must prioritise health. im downsizing in living standards to take a part time job and have moore time for music and guitar paractise. when you close a door others open dont be afraid to let go.

I quit my job back in September 2023 and have been on a 5 month vacation ever since , I’m living off my savings until March. It’s so relieving not going to work the next day or dealing with annoying co-workers. I’ve had a lot of time to reflect and figure out my next move. Wish you luck on your future endeavors 💪🏽😎 we got this!

I just need the courage to walk and never look back. I deeply hate what I do for a living. This isn't what I envisioned 😢 and it's just not doing it for me. I'm mentally and and physically drained! 😪

You are on the right path young lady. I'm 59 and a half and after 30 years of dedicated service as a coordinator in the Document Services Department at a now defunct law firm, on Thanksgiving Day I received an email telling me I was terminated. Corporate America does not play fair and unfortunately, I was too scared to act on it. in my younger years I see you young people are rewriting the rule book. Good for you, the Universe will send you where you need to be.

I cope by working out at home, yoga and reconnecting and deeply diving into my relationship with self and with God. I have been feeling this way for so long, I'm just now allowing myself to breathe and to come into peace and understanding with my physical and mental health. Thank you for this video!

Guurl I just resigned from a Good paying job last week effective immediately. I had lost my folks both in junior high and had a strong sense of independence AND self preservation from a young age of 14. Its Okay to have doubts but I maintain that when Ur selfworth , ambition takes the Driver's seat.... Nothing is impossible. At the Age of 34 now,I'm embarking on a very scary and rewarding studies in architecture.Let Providence Guide Me 🙏

This sounds like me 10 years ago! I quit my law firm after 6 years it was toxic the culture the people and quit with no back up ..scariest thing but so worth it. Took a year to travel and found a dream job. You were so brave ❤❤ thanks for sharing
  • Most people don’t work for an employer thinking they’re making someone else rich. They’re doing it as a trade for a salary so they can live. Unless someone has a regular income from somewhere, savings, or a partner who has an income, it’s almost impossible to just quit their job.

This is a great video. I see that my daughter has the same mindset. She was in college (a renowned HBCU) and after one semester she realized she was not fulfilled. She moved into her own apartment with the help of her parents and had me paying the rent lol. The more she got up every morning to go to class, the more she realized that her destiny was paving a very different blueprint. She told me her plans and the minute I came to remove the last bit of items out of her apartment, she began her journey to self entrepreneurship. She has not stopped and continues to work on HER dreams, instead of someone else's. That to me is the meaning of a true girl boss lol :) You're definitely an inspiration and I will continue to follow you on your journey...Loving the hair by the way chica!!
  • Watching this after having a breakdown twice this week! Been praying alot and getting more opportunities with my side hustle. So I am taking this as a sign! Thank you for this video for it is so relatable and hits home.

You are so mature and so wise. You're going to be just fine!
  • Shes still working but multiple part time jobs to pay her bills while she works on her. I dont understand how close minded some can be.
  • @jasmineharrison690
You literally have a powerful and star quality . Thank you for sharing this .I resigned from my job without something lined up too. I am terrified but my intuition told me it sad time to leave and prioritize myself and my mental health and I am proud of that and proud of you !!❤❤

I had a similar talk with my supervisor and their suggestion was more work. I think not! I am preparing for a career break one way or the other.
