Lauren's Spamton Sweepstakes #2: Q&A and discussion (Deltarune)

Roughly speaking for those who do not understand, this whole topic with cats in Q/A refers more to the system of elements in deltarune, where each opponent is assigned its own element. Referring to all the information that we got from the game files, the element of Spamton (Spamton NEO to be exact) is element 6, which also includes Tasques and Tasque Manager. The names of the elements can also be viewed in the list of recruits.

In chapter 1 at the beginning and the end, interacting with the tv will say “the tv isn’t plugged in”, but at the start of chapter 2 it says “it’s plugged in” it’s weird to me that they had to specifically add that tid bit, cause all they had to do was just leave the “it’s your tv” bit and that’s it, but for some reason it felt it had an obligation to let the player know about wether or not it’s plugged in

Your first Sweepstakes video was recommended to me and im really enjoying the vibe so far. The way you talk about stuff makes me really interested in what you have to say. If you ever need another (almost) deltarune/undertale-like game to stream,i would recommend OneShot,it is an emotional rollercoaster and made me cry a few times, which i can't say for many games. Keep up the good work!

been binging your deltarune playthrough and I noticed you're an amazingly fast reader also loving your in depth analysis of the characters and story

It could be said for Chapter 1 being Susie’s chapter that the characters aside from Lancer are a representation of the prejudices people have against her. Most of the enemies and NPC are very vocal about her being dangerous or scary, and most choose to not associate with her despite her being friends with Lancer. We can assume that Lancer is a representation of her youth and younger self where she had friends and his dad being potentially like you said representing an Adult’s lack of care given to Susie. As for the connection between an Jevil and Susie, I want to point out that there is a bit of a connection aside from the equipment. Notice how when Jevil went mad, he didn’t necessarily became obsessed with the idea of freedom but rather obsessed with his own freedom, unlike Spamton who was desperate for freedom. Jevil’s “I can do anything” attitude resembles a lot of the old Susie who did whatever she wanted without remorse or guilt regardless of the severity of the action. She’s also the one who instigated the fight after Jevil talks about the game he wants to play with the gang. I think it’s safe to assume Jevil is a mirror of her worse qualities, manic energy that will do whatever it wants.

Personally I think whoever is making the superbosses is a totally different entity than The Knight, just bc it'd be weird storytelling to have a main plot mystery be built up entirely in optional content

I think spamton's only friends now is pipis

Something pretty odd I noticed with the QnA... specifically the metion of the Mettaton EX form... With Undertale's genocide route, Mettaton talks up the NEO form as the superior, cool combat form. But with Deltarune, defeating Spamton through FIGHTing has him try to become his EX form, and talking it up as though IT were the superior version... Can't tell if there is a conclusion to draw from all this, but I couldn't help but notice.

homestuck does have a lot of references to and shares themes with the neverending story, so i wouldnt be surprised if deltarune wasnt also influenced by it in some way

I’m genuinely worried, is fighting the optional bosses a good idea? If you never encounter them, we never incite their actions further, example: Jevil was let free by us, and Spamton only became NEO after we got the disc for him

My theory is that pipis are the spamton blue heads that attacks you in Neo fight

I'm not sure if we ever got pronouns/gender for "Tenna," but if we didn't, I think it would be cool (if a little on the nose) for her to be Anne Tenna. I'm imagining her as a kind of ruthless television corporate mob boss style character. But obviously that's all total conjecture.

does she know anything about gaster? it feels off not talking about him, he's like the BIG reason of why spamton going crazy

hey lauren, there is a potential music leak that seems potentially deliberate about deltarune chapters 3-5, do you want to see it, or would you prefer not to? I can link you too it, I am convinced it is real and somewhat sure it is intentional, so I was wondering if you wanted to look at it. there's like 30 tracks.

I’m kind of skipping around the stream so you my have realized it, but everything is cannon besides the finale. Toby stated that the finale specifically isn’t cannon Edit: as for the q&a this is my personal guess, but the q&a itself is probably not cannon but the info from the answers probably is

I'm sure a lot people have reccomended it to you, but I'm not sure about your stance on it. Would you be willing to check it out? Anyone who moght know the answer to this, please share!
