I believe that slim wallets are the best wallets because they eliminate annoying pocket-bulge, force us to be conscious about all the junk we might typically just shove in our wallets, and, even if you're the type of person who needs to carry tons of cards and cash, make a great primary holder for the very few most-commonly-used cards and a bit of cash.

There are many slim wallet options, but in this video, I break down the few that I have real life experience using for extended periods of time. The Bellroy Card Sleeve is my newest slim wallet, and unboxing it in this video was just the start, as I really put it through its paces for more than 2 weeks before finishing off this video so I could give my honest real-life-use thoughts.

The Herschel Charlie wallet has been my tried-tested-and-true workhorse slim wallet companion for over a decade, and it's something I can definitely put my name behind, in quality, functionality, aesthetics, and value.

My very first slim-wallet was the Raven by Herschel Supply wallet, and is particularly awesome for folks who use cash since not only is it a super slim wallet that easily holds 7 or 8 cards, but also, has an integrated money-clip for cash bills.

I've loved my slim wallets for over 15 years, and that's why, in this video, I'm also giving-away two of them - brand new, never unboxed, and rare since they've both been discontinued completely.

I'd love to know your wallet of choice, whether it's a slim wallet or not, since as you know, I love all things EDC, and everyday carry items are ones that I always look to add to my collection as I continue this neverending journey of finding the best tools that I'll actually use, every single day.

  • I've been using this Bellroy Card Sleeve for 5+ years and have loved it every single day. Even for the 2 weeks when it was lost. It felt out of my parked truck on a Toronto street in the winter, into a snow bank, ended up soaked, ran over, and eventually found and returned by a good Samaratin to the local police station. Had dirt ground into it, looked beaten up, but within a few weeks of use, the leather bounced back so amazingly well. That was 2 years ago, and it looks amazing to this day. I can confirm, the pull tab still works perfectly. The wallet looks incredible after 5 years, not a stitch is out of place. 10/10
  • I’ve been using the bellroy card sleeve for almost a year and loved every single day with it. The smooth leather, small print and easy access is my main reason for using it. Love your videos man. Keep it up
  • For nearly two decades, I used a Cross bifold. This year, I started a new side project that needed its own small planner, so I decided to make the passport-sized Traveler's Company notebook part of my EDC. I've migrated my wallet into the vinyl zip pouch. It also has two notebook inserts and a kraft folder, as well as a pen loop. Despite all that, it comes out thinner than the Cross wallet. That said, it's about as wide as I could possibly go for a pocket wallet, and I don't know that I'll continue to use this setup once the side project is complete. But it's super handy to always have a notebook and a pen on hand.

Currently using herschel charlie in leather version and absolutely loving it usually i put 1 card in each front slot and 2 card in back slot and some cash in the middle
  • I’m using a slim wallet I bought on a whim from Target, works great so far. Thanks for the video!
  • After carrying a George Costanza wallet for far too long, my current EDC is the BULLIANT slim Leather Wallet Front Pocket Card Holder. The Bulliant has held up extremely well over the last year, looks pretty sleek, and is extremely affordable. If there's one downside, it may have still have too much storage, so if you're not diligent, pocket bloat can easily return. Thanks for the great content and reviews!
  • Good video Maurice 🙂 Some useful info about the pull strap and the card or cash. I am currently using my Mitchell Leather Money Clip wallet. 👍🏻🙂
  • My current edc wallet that I carry with me is the Revelot W1 SMART. I used it pretty often as I still use cash when they do not have other options. Plus it is quite durable and compact, most often than not I will just chuck it into my slings with my keys and everything and it still holds up quite well to all the beating that it has gone through.
  • Just discovered your channel/video. I have to say that bellroy has been serving me well for the last 4 years. After a bit of time, the leather stretches enough for the outside card to go down a bit more to have the pull-tab just barely outside for you to reach it better. But I don’t put cash/credit card on the outside b/c it increases the overall thickness. I place my most often used cards inside but on the outer part of the stack. So when I pull it up, just tune bit, I have access to 2 cards on the outside. Put thin cards on the outside (like metro) since I found that it reduces the overall thickness and prevents leaving any marks on the pants. I place the once/twice a day use cards like the metro on the outside since it is harder to pull cards from the outside than inside. Also, since I carry very few bills (couple of $20s), I do a 2-fold to make it barely as thick as a card and put it inside but on the outer part of the stack. Cash slides deeper into the stack so that only when I pull the tab all the way, the cash pops up. On a light pull, I get access to the cards on the stack.
  • I use the Bellroy Slim in black leather and I’m really like it so far. I hope it holds up well through time.
  • I have been using a Mitchell Leather Money Clip wallet for about 4 years... Minimal, with a great design!
  • I use a RAINS water resistant slim leather wallet I got through a Bespoke Post box. Before that I was using a generic knockoff of a ridge wallet I found in Amazon, and was using that for a few years before I swapped about a month ago. It’s a lot slimmer than what I was using before, and it’s helped me cut back on carrying around so much bloat. Also it looks super clean, which is half the battle.
  • @dsb713
I currently use the trayvax accent and I love the leather smell. I am looking at the trove to go slim and change it up . You can’t beat leather
  • @User_2051
I purchased a bell Roy slim sleeve and was also surprised at how thin the leather was. To me that made it feel cheap. Considering it was 89$ I expected more. It quickly loosened up to where my cards would just slide out with little effort.
  • I just recently picked up a Coach medium zip around wallet from a friend. Slightly bigger than what I’m used to carrying, but it’s nice for my needs right now.
  • @MrSlinxy
The herschel Charlie is massive, I brought one years ago thinking it was small but it’s not… I used a lascote card holder for years, moved to a Hugo boss one when the lascote one got tried looking… Tried using the herschel after nearly losing the the Hugo… but I took one look at it when it arrived and placed it in the draw. Been using a life adventure bifold that is the same size of most card holders, folded the other way for quicker access to the cards and the notes went in the middle. Just went to look for the Herschel and I’ve found an animal card holder that I never knew I had…. Smaller than my leather card holders, going to run with that for a while with a money clip to see how it goes.
  • I use a slim wallet from Zara, it only has 3 slots so I push two cards into each slot. I love the cards you drew! :)
  • @DreWooo
I currently use a ridge wallet. The "half dome" style. It's done me well going on almost a year with it. It ages very well imo
