If you are worried about how good you look than just scream “YEWWWWW” on every obstacle and you should be fine.

I have a 9 year old who is learning how to ride park, I'm 36, been skiing for 30 years, never done a 180. I go and try, and I'm proud of the fact that I know nothing, I laugh when I fall, I can't ride a rail without falling. BUT, my 9 year old laughs with me, and him watching me fail, and me being ok with failing, since it's part of the process, it took all the tension off him! Now he laughs when he falls, gets back up and tries again. Be a role model, and show other people your perseverance, that is more admirable then doing a 180 or a rail. The guys riding park, know this. After 2 days, I can now ride switch a lil and do 180s both left and right and so can he! We even tried 360s, and he "earned" ice cream for it. I see other riders scared to try out of fear of failing, and I joke with em about how bad I am. All these guys doing the tricks were once there. I feel bad when I see people watch and not try, I know the feeling, I did that for decades. The guys in the park cheer me on, laugh with me, and give me tips.... Be humble and enjoy the process of learning, this guy is right, just start small with the basics, once you get a 180 down, that lil bit of confidence pushes you to do more. But for the life of me, I fall every time on a rail and can't figure it out, and just laugh at myself, but one day... I won't fall! See ya out there!

The social thing is soooo true. I'm a florida boy and went snowboarding for the first time at age 16. Got pretty good pretty fast, third day of vacation and I was going up the mountain and down alone. I found a group of 20 something, longhaired, snowboard dudes, and they were the nicest ppl I ever met. They took me down double black diamond and literally showed me the slowest best way to do it, then all the faster ways. Those guys literally made the whole trip for me. Ended up shredding every trail on the mountain with them (they shredded, I cartwheeled down a couple of em lol). Hands down best vacation of my life.

Makes the title why you shouldn't be intimidated by the terrain park "Makes the thumbnail the most intimidating terrain park"

I really like the gym comparison because it's true in so many ways. So many people are afraid of the gym because of the same exact reasons as the park. You're not gonna feel like you belong at first but when you start putting in the work you'll slowly start feeling like you belong.

I don't ride park (but I really wish I did) I think because since I don't know how to do any tricks or really even hit jumps it's kinda embarrassing to ride the park when everyone else there is doing 360s and 720s and I can't even hit a jump Plus everyone on the chair can see you I think a lot of people (myself included) don't ride park because we don't know how to and it's embarrassing when you try and fall in front of everyone

Your gym analogy was spot on perfect... and it's never too late to start skiing the park. I turned 47 this year and this was my first year skiing it with my 11 year old son. (Now I'm the old man of the park...) What a blast and I wish I started sooner. Keep up the great videos.. cheers!

Bag O Tricks, Last season I was watching your video on how to do a rail. By the end of last ski season I was watching your video on how to backflip. Your videos really help. I won at least 4 competitions last season because I could k-fed and 540. So thank you very much and keep up the awesome videos

As a park skier I love to see new young people trying new stuff and working to get better because that’s what I do all the time but when they just get in the way it’s not good

This was pretty good and I recognize the three obstacles. Nearly all park riders are helpful and supportive. Most will probably not even notice you or pay attention, because they’re doing their own thing. I hit the park every time I ski, and I’m 61. Everybody in our local parks knows me and my age, and I go and work on tricks. Some days are better than others. I get props for sure. But when it comes to park, nobody cares. Everyone is focused on their own progression. I wait in line with kids 1/3 my age and take my turn and nobody notices. If they do notice, thry always want to help or give props. Park is hard, physically demanding, and mentally demanding. It’s also very personal, because no one knows what’s going on in your head but you. I recommend park to anyone, but especially older skiers. Go after the park with all your heart and soul, and it will change your mind and body. How do you manage the fear? By gradual progression and reps—thousands of reps. Hit the park as much as you can and it gets easier. A quote from Tom Wallisch.

This made me miss snowboarding so much. I live in Florida and I’ve only snowboarded once but it was so fun and I really wanna do it again.
  • Watched your backie tutorial about a hundred times because I was so scared...then I sent it and 2 days later I learned rodeo 5...keep it up dawg
  • @levlev.1028
The only thing I'm scared of on the whole mountain is rails😧
  • You helped me with this video get introduced to the park. Park skiing is now currently my favorite thing to do. Thanks!

Dope video just saw this in my recommended and I love park snowboarding and couldn't agree more with this video. All the guys in the park that shred are the most chill people I have met on the mountain. They just love what they are doing and if you share that love it's almost a brother hood. And great job expanding the channel you gained a sub off the recommended tab :).

Loved the video. Thank you so much for this! I have been skiing ⛷ over 3 years now and just now built up the confidence to start riding in the park. Your video brought me more confidence 👍🏻👏🏻

This Video is just so true. The Ski park is like my living room with all my friends and it's always great when someone joins our crew. Even if they are only here for a week or something on holiday, it's always a great oppurtunity to make new friends.
