Part 2 of 2
In the past, stock investing focused on individual companies and their specific attributes, with a relatively small percentage of the population participating. However, the markets have since expanded, and market participation, particularly through retirement accounts, has increased significantly. This has led to the realization that macro factors, such as the global economy, geopolitics, and domestic politics, are important to consider in investment decisions.
Jason De Sena Trennert, Co-Founder and CEO of Strategas Research Partners, is an expert in the macro picture. Strategas has been voted the top independent macro research provider by Institutional Investor for six consecutive years. Trennert discusses the major macro themes that will shape the investment climate for the foreseeable future.

I don't think we are going to have a new lost decade based on all factors, although there is a probability. There are many reasons this time is different than the beginning of the last lost decade. I will elaborate the long story on another day.

Logical but the opinion was with the absolute market consensus . We must anticipate what people have not thought of .The market consensus is OFTEN a wrong call !
  • Same picture , different frame regarding recession and what to do to be defensive

Outside the defense industry, where you need national security clearance, de-globalization not happening, as China has a lock on manufacturing.

There's alot of sound strategic advice here. However, as always, the Investment Industrial Complex always promotes its needs and agendas first. Of course he doesn't think austerity is a good thing, that's not beneficial to growth and thus income from higher investment activity by consumers. They want more debt to accumulate indefinitely because this is how equity assets grow. Whatever the weather, they always want you to keep investing.
