Had issues starting my unit and this video was very helpful. However after cleaning carb, replacing spark plug and checking spark, I decided to remove valve cover. I found push rod was not pushing rocker. I slowly pulled the cord and held the push rod until motor seemed in correct position, pressed the valve down and inserted the push rod onto position. Replaced cover and and tested. Works great like new.

Hi! New to generators. Bought one after a week long power outage in Texas. After breaking in the new IPower2000, it's been sitting there for over 2 years now. Thought i had ran it dry before storage, so was kind of suprised to find some gas still left inside the bowel when checking the drain screw. Checked the oil and added some gas treatment along with fresh gas. Tried to spray a little fogging oil and starter fluid into the air intake area pass the air filter, but because the air intake was in the upper corner, really couldnt get the spray to go in directly because ive lost the straws on those cans. Wiped the filter box clean so wont accidentally start a fire and pulled the cord about 6 times. Didnt start, so went inside the house to look at videos to make sure i had turned all the dials to the correct positions, which i did. By the time i came back out, saw the generator was dripping gas along the side of the metal bowel and made a puddle beneath the generator. Quickly drained the gas. Not sure where the gas is coming out from. So now got to take this thing apart like you showed to see if the float pin is sitting correctly or gummed up. Want to double check before attempting to take this thing apart. Should i need new parts, such as a float pin or seat, or anything else carb related, could they be obtained from a lawn mower repair shop? What are some possible places to order parts if needed? Also, of all the bolts removed in this video, do any of them requiring torque to be put back? Thanks in advance!
  • Thank you for sharing! I knew what was wrong with mine just from the surging but heard it was a nightmare to fix. You have calmed my nerves sir! Your awesome!
  • Thanks, you helped me get my generator started before I spent money on a new calibrator!! Much appreciated

Great vid, I had forgotten how to pull the cover off 🤭🤷🏻‍♂️ After watching the whole video I am now prepared if it does go south. Thanks!
  • I have just bought one of these , I took the cover off to check it over , and thought to myself that is going to be a nightmare to work on if anything goes wrong with it, ....thankyou for your video , I am not as concerned as I was 😊

Great how to.. I'm curious if you could have just removed the air filter housing and then removed the carb bowl to clean the jets.

they still seal when they have a ring, i never replaced one that had a ring that held the fuel in , but if it leaks you need to take the carb out and put one in so if you have one, just put one in ...
  • I hope you can answer a question for me. I have the yamaha EF2000 IS. another video I saw had the long bolts that secure the carburetor taken off. I did that and now I am having troubles determining how far the bolts are screwed in. When I put the nut on the bolt and start tighten the nut the bolt keeps turning and working its way in. What happens is that you don't get a good seal and the bolt continues to go in where the nut has very little to thread onto. I hope I explained this that you can understand. Thanks and good video.

Any idea why the DC outlet would stop working?
  • I have the Ipower 2300. The red one not Yamaha. And it won't start. When I stored it I emptied all the fuel from the carb. After 2 yrs I tried starting it and won't start. I took it apart just like you did. The carb looks exactly like yours and everything looked good. I still cleaned it really good and still won't start. Any idea what could be wrong?? It's pretty much new. I only used it once for 3 days 2 yrs ago. Thanks
