It’s like I’m in free fall, free fall in the dark, and I don’t know where I’ll be when I land.” This is another extract from the novel, and man, his story’s even sadder in this version, because you realize how little agency he truly had in his last few days as Anakin. Torn apart by a hurricane of conflicting duties and emotions, he acted on impulse out of exhaustion and fear, fell prey to a monster’s manipulation, and the first moment he could actually calm down and think rationally was also the moment when he realized he was trapped in a living hell for the rest of his days.

If you feel sad after seeing this, you should because this is the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker.

Anakins story is so tragic. I love everything about the Skywalker family and I always hoped of an alternative ending where Anakin doesn't get consumed by the dark aside and He and Padme both raised their children together. But that's not going to happen! I'm so sad and crying. 😭😭

At least Anakin and Padme were reunited in the Netherworld of the Force. Lucas said so.

At first, I thought it would be something really strange because of the voicing, but after some secs, this started to melt my heart, you did such a beautiful job with this video, so heartbreaking and creative! well that hit me where it hurt

I normally do not listen to audiobooks, but I love this Matthew Stover's book so much that I even got an audio version as well. And seeing this audio version with the moments from the movie? Chilling and sad.

That was deep! I pity Anakin even more now.

Definitely read the Revenge of the Sith novelization if you haven't. Stover does an amazing job of really expanding on the characters mentalities (particularly Anikan's). It really gives a greater appreciation for the prequels.

This is by far the greatest Star Wars MV. I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. The combination of the expert scene selection, coloring, and most potently the audio book slices made this so incredibly moving that I honest to god became speechless for a little while. This is why I love this fandom so dearly.

wow that narration. Anakin was in a living hell for the rest of his days and while there were other forces at work to make him turn he himself is still to blame as well. He had a choice but didint take it.

Oh my gosh! I love the ROTS novelization so much as well, and this part...honestly, it felt like a thousand Stormtroopers were stumping on my heart while reading it, and seeing it re-enacted with the film clips just brings the pain back! You are awesome for finding this audio version of it, and I love this to pieces <33333 (another part of the same scene that always slays me is the "composer gone deaf, painter gone blind" description. Like, Anakin, what have you done to yourself ç______ç and I also agree that there are so many more emotional scenes in the book. It totally makes you understand Anakin's struggle and inner pain and confusion 10000 better - even if I do love the film, too.)
