I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I take you just the way you are

My wife is dying. This was our song. She and I kissed for the first time as it played. Billy; Thank you. I will take the bad times; just the way you are. I love you Darling. Always and forever. Don’t waste time folks. Show the one you love that you love them. That’s forever.
  • It's stunning to think Billy Joel thought this was a throwaway song on his album but Paul McCartney wished that he had written this song
  • Back when musicians played real instruments and actually sang. No lip syncing. No autotune. Just pure raw talent.

I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
  • My boyfriend who passed from liver cancer 6yrs ago we used to sing this song 🎵 together 🎉🎉
  • My husband is a man of few words, his actions speak volumes. He played this song for me last night I fell in love all over again and my heart just melted. I will love you FOREVER my love❤❤

My husband and my song...played at our wedding! 42 years later,we are still together ❤
  • My wife's and my wedding song on Nov 19, 1979. We couldn't have picked a better one. We were married for almost 42 years until she died from breast cancer. I loved her through all of her health struggles through the good times and bad times. Just the way she was. 😢❤❤❤

If only today, performers actually used only their voice, no auto-tune, probably very few would fall into the category of singers. This is awesome! the real voice , thank you Mr. Joel for sharing!

To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. " ASK JESUS TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND SAVE YOU, AND TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS, FOR WE GIVE THANKS AND GLORY TO THE LORD. IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AMEN!

Sang this song to my girlfriend at karaoke, got a standing ovation, and we’ve been married 22 years.

It’s crazy I am 14 and some people call me weird for liking this kind of music. Billy Joel and Elton John are some of my favorite artists
  • @mandypdx
I sing this to my rescue dog (even when he’s a “handful”) 💙
  • @MrCLynnGreen
Just played this to my wife of nearly 53 years. It captures the contentment of love that is grounded in a covenent to be faithful for life.
  • @2222isabella
Still one of the most beautiful love songs ever written!

My girlfriend and I used to dance to this and many other songs from that era. We literally danced all night. We had such great fun. I wish I was young again and could bring back that era. Just a fabulously good time. The young people of today have no clue. By the way, that girlfriend is my wife of over 40 years.
