One of the Cardinal rules of being a landlord, never rent to family or friends.

"If we all happy, we all broke". That's a good line!
  • Facts!!! I tell people this everyday. Family would rather pay a strange on the 1st of every month for 30 years instead of pay you on time for 1 year.

It’s like this, when you’re rich, we’re all rich, but when you’re broke, you’re just broke

“If you wanna lose a friend, loan them money.” Edited: it’s just a saying, I personally don’t loan anyone anything. I got my own bills lol
  • I read of one pro athlete who grew up in a bad neighborhood. He didn't want his "friends" to think he'd gone Hollywood so he was back visiting. His "friends" pulled out the dope. He tried to explain that if they got caught his career was over and asked them to put it away They didn't. He tried to explain it, but they just insulted him. He was smart enough to realize that true friends don't try to pull you down. He never went back.

When I see those living rooms on draft day with fifty people running around all excited, my mind goes straight to this topic. Extremely well said!
  • This is NOT just in football but in LIFE. I understand this SOOOOOOOO much. I'm the youngest and somehow I became responsible for taking care of everyone's poor choices. It wasn't until I got older that I realized not anymore and set standards, which in turn almost none of them speak to me now. But I'm happier.

I remember when I was 8 one of my cousins made the Houston oilers practice squad and his mom's side of the family was acting up like they were high society or something, he got cut and is now a high school coach barely getting by. Life comes at you fast af
  • Rule number 7. Keep your business and family completely separated.

Not just the league. You working at Popeyes then want free sandwiches.
  • That’s the most powerful phrase I heard all year. “If we are all happy, we are broke. Someone has to set the standard”
