What is Mental Health?

Published 2016-07-01
One in four adults experiences at least one diagnosable mental health problem in any given year. 9 out of 10 people who experience mental health problems say that they face stigma and discrimination as a result. Poor mental health in the workplace costs the UK an estimated Β£26billion a year.

Recognising stress and mental health problems is not easy. Employees may take time off for odd reasons, be unproductive or unhappy at work, but the hard part is doing something about it and that is where Mental Health at Work can help managers by training them to start the conversation with a common language and literacy around mental health.

  • I'm fine. Only when I'm constantly sick or annoyed by someone. And i don't have to tell who is doing it. I was completely fine on Saturday and Sunday. No one at home. Thoroughly enjoyed my solitude with self care, favourite food and watching my favourite movies.

Useful information. In life there are only 2 problems--mind and the body. To feel better and relaxed reduce negative thoughts. Be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing yourself physically or mentally with others, reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. [Psychomatic]. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 10-15-20 minutes or more. You can sit or lie down, anywhere-anytime, neck straight and eyes closed. Never meditate with expectations but with awareness. Don’t fight your thoughts. With practice the mind will relax. Keep a reminder to observe your breath sensations throughout the day and night --before sleep, when reading, at work, in school, at home, etc with eyes open or closed. Make this a lifetime habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

  • While particular facilities may be helpful for some, recovery ultimately comes from within, aided by loved ones and qualified professionals. I hope anyone struggling finds the care they need to regain their health and happiness. The professionals at Sovereign Health were not just therapists; they became my allies and confidants on this transformative journey. Their unwavering support, empathy, and expertise created a safe space for me to open up and explore the depths of my emotions.

  • Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression , anxiety and illicit pill addiction . Imagine carrying heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone . Believe it or not in a couple years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues . β €
  • Mental Health: Literally is invading a teen's body while playing outside without her device Parents: haha its because of the dang phone
  • I think that this video diminishes the reasonable skepticism that many have about the lack of rigor in the mental health literature. This translates to medical interventions that are implemented against poorly defined or understood mental outcomes. In other words ... treatment requires trust.
  • Always choose to spread positivity and help others when they're having a hard time.
