Just bought a Quest 3 and sold my Quest 2… I justified the upgrade because I use the Quest 2 basically every day, it’s become one of my primary gaming devices. Can’t wait to try the 3 for the first time later today! Also nice mandolin in the back, I’m learning right now haha.

It’s good to come across a genuine review, thanks man 👍

Im saving up for the quest 3 rn! Nice video
  • I've been more than happy with my Quest 3 and I'm really happy I didn't opt for a PSVR2 myself. I barely touched my PSVR original model and hated the wires, the amount of space required, and the limited selection of good quality games... Now I actually have a wishlist for VR games and I tend to participate in every big sale that rolls around.

I'm surprised that after saying '3 consoles' one of them wasn't a PC. PC gaming is incredible

I think the mixed reality is still very much in its infancy and will take some developers to take it serious for us to get A+ apps and games in mixed reality.

The pancake lenses of the quest 3 are honestly revolutionary over the quest 2, it makes every game absolutely amazing. I personally LOVE my quest 3.

The sweet spot is probably the main motivation for me to upgrade to the meta quest 3. Everything else is a nice to have except the pro controllers which for the current price difference I feel like they should be included. Thanks for providing an unbiased and balanced comparison between the mq3 and the avp.

How have the lenses held up? Are you using anything to protect them?
  • @Ripley777
I working in a welding factory and having safety googles, welding mask, safety hats all day long. This will be much comfortable to wear I gues. Edit: Actualy buying one sooner than I tough.

Well, I think the Quest 3 is a very good VR headset for what I use it for. I do PCVR Sim Racing on my PC and the quality of viewing is great. I am connected via a link cable to a USB port on the PC. Compared to my Rift S, the Resolution is better, the lenses are better and have a nice wide sweet spot, and more processor power. And it is my first wireless VR headset. Still learning the Quest 3 and more info about it all the time on "You Tube" The only thing I changed on the Quest 3 is the head strap. Now have the BoboVR S3 head strap, very nice replacement. Thanks for the video, take care.

If you use your Quest 2, buy a Quest 3. At first I thought it was a waste of money but after using it for a few months, it's so much better. I recommend a better head strap with an extra Battery. It's a must... the battery does runs out way too soon.

Beware of watching this video with an Alexa close by and a sleeping baby in the house. Nice vid btw :))

Aside from the base unit battery life, I absolutely love my Quest 3. I was hesitant about getting another VR unit after having the first PSVR, and barely touching it....but I think it was the need to have an exorbitant amount of space and the requirement to have cables running across my living room... While I could play PCVR with my Quest, I haven't done so yet... the base unit and the Meta Quest store have more than enough offerings to keep me extremely happy and I play it daily.
  • @thecookrock
Thank you. You sort of helped me to make the decision to buy or not to buy.... I'm gonna buy... I was using the Meta quest 2..
  • @Moonwiz
Lol! Thanks for turning my office lights off! It looks better now!
  • The play store thing is really on google for not cooperating if i understand correctly. That said I kind of disagree that they need to emphasize this direction. Once the novelty wears off there is little compelling reason for most to use HMD's for traditional flat screen content. Flatscreen compatibility is a nice ancillary feature, but for AR to stick they need to develop compelling applications that REQUIRE spatial computing (ie modeling, digital twins, interior design apps, task assistance apps, etc). Its easy to make compelling games in VR/AR, but its harder to make compelling mainstream work cases. Honestly i think its VR that has the most near term mainstream productivity potential if they can bring CODEC avatars to workrooms. That could actually fundamentally change communications. I'd hop in a headset for an hour to meet with someone halfway around the world for sure. But i have zero interest putting a headset on all day to do spreadsheets or check emails.

I am still using the Rift CV1 and still happy with it even tho the visuals are not the best. I have been looking to upgrade but i watched Linus reviewing the Quest 3 and he said that the tracking wasnt the best and if you have outside in tracking then stick with that. What is your opion on that as i dont wont to go for better clarity but worse tracking, plus, would i see a big difference between the two headsets?. Cheers

Mixed reality is awesome 👌. Have you not played Espire 2 M.R ?
