The whole reason I watched this because I wanted to know how they put the shell on there
-
Haaaaa so the steps are: 1) Roll out chocolate. 2) Secret. 3) Finished !
-
Me: “Huh. I wonder how they get those shells on there?" Video: “Oh, that's a secret. But here's a bunch of other stuff about M&M's you didn't want to know."
-
The secret shell ingredient is Alfredo sauce
-
Eating them while watching how they're made. Sweet!
-
Omg! I couldn’t work there. I’d be eating them.
-
When I graduated high school in 1982 one closing comment in our yearbook was about "Why don't they make blue M & M's?" and a few years later they actually did! I also noticed as a kid that only the plain chocolate ones had that tan color in the bag, but the peanut ones didn't! As a kid growing up in the 70s I used to think I wanted to have a car in that M & M's tan color! Haha!

"We have a color specialist" Camera pans to Creed
-
This is, seriously, the most useful video about the production of M&M's on the internet. It even explains how the candies get their signature M mark.
-
What work do you do? -I'm a color specialist at m&m 😆
-
I was going to say Claire from the Bon Appetite test kitchen would’ve loved this video, but the candy shell isn’t explained, so why even bother? :\
-
This made my mouth water uncontrollably
-
I remember when you could buy a pound of M&M's on sale for 99 cents. Eventually at some point, they sneakily and quietly (not unlike half gallon ice cream) reduced the one pound bag to around 14 oz all the while keeping the price the same.
-
Who's watching it with a bag of M&Ms.
-
So the shell ingredient is top secret🤔
-
The biggest question is top secret, awesome! Also the color distribution isn't randomized, enjoy!
-
I remember watching this show when I was younger. Forgot it existed till now
-
If you hold em long enough they will melt in your hand and your pockets I’ve made that mistake before, my pockets were ruined but it washed out
-
They need to bring this show back on

Fun Fact: Amblin Entertainment (Steven Spielberg’s company) went to the Mars Co. and pitched the idea of E.T. munching on M&M’s before the movie came out. The Mars company turned them down, so E.T. ate Reese’s Pieces instead. Big mistake. HUGE! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
