I am lucky enough to live in this beautiful city. There is always something new to discover. If you have never been, you should make every effort to come and visit. You wont be disappointed.

I was born in York and spent my youth running around the snickets and alley ways. My mother is in the Terrys Chocolate Works Care Village. A lovely place indeed

I used to work in York in the later 1960s and it was such a relief to see how little it has changed since then. Thank you.
  • I live here and would recommend to not come on a weekend, but come during the week. The shops will be far less stressed, you will find tables at restaurants and old pubs and you'll just generally have a more pleasant time. Weekends are beyond ridiculous with how busy it is now.

York is my favourite place in the world! I was at the University of Leeds for a study year abroad from Ontario, and it was the first time I ever saw a cathedral, Roman ruins and Medieval buildings. An instant love affair was born. I go back any chance I get-- and I've been on so many Ghost Tours, I could probably lead one myself! I hope to visit later this year. Thank you-- this is wonderful. x

London is cool but York is the best city in England imo. Hit the night for a pub crawl, great stuff
  • Visiting York from U.S. in September. Thank you for the information!

Absolutely loved York. Bought yarn on Shambles to knit gifts for our children for Christmas that year. Had dinner at Guy Fawkes and was given the recipe for the Guy Fawkes Steak Pie. Such a delight for a Canadian who loves to cook.

My favourite English City 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Our son spent 3 and a half years at York StJohn University, which is slap-bang in the City centre. How proud we were to see him graduate in the Minster, receiving his BA(Hons) in History from the Archbishop of York. Fabulous place, genuine people. We loved to visit, just a beautiful experience. Peaceful, confident, unique in its' character with bags of fascinating history. Along with Newcastle, an absolute MUST. This is such an entertaining, educational video. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. • The Cat Gallery is now the sole organiser of the cat trail
  • Thinking of relocating from Glasgow to York. This video seals the deal!
  • A truly incredible tour tonight. My grandparents left all this magnificence behind in 1923 to come to Western Australia to promised farmlands that turned out to be sandy coastal plains. Many English returned to England. My grandmother wanted to go home but they stayed and found other work and made a success of things.

Many generations of my family are from York .I live about 12 miles outside of the city, but visit regularly. Wonderful city with a great history,

The production behind this video is fantastic. This is something I would expect to watch on the BBC or PBS. How you transport the audience to your filming location is very impressive. You've made me start searching for houses in the area now, haha.

Thank you for an amazing video! I am so happy to have stumbled upon your channel. As a poor American Anglophile, I must live vicariously through travel videos, and yours are just simply wonderful! ❤
  • I watched your video before I came to York to study. I have now been here for 8 months and I love this city so much. I still have so much to explore because with uni I did not have a lot of free time. So, I am back to using your lovely video for references :)

Used to live in Knaresborough. York was a fave place to go. 👌👍The Happy Valley Chinese restaurant at 5m58sec is outstanding.
