This fish box of tools was dropped in from a local steel steel fabricator who builds steel frame buildings.
This is a common bunch of tools we get in from steel workshops, in pretty much the same condition. Only tool missing is a magnetic drill.

Grinders are going to be one of your bread and butter repairs. Everyone has one, and workshops amd fabricators will has several. So they are always coming in.
They are an easy tool to strip down and repair. And you can generally get through them quite quickly.

Nibblers you don't see as othen, as most of the time they simply don't break.

The amount of spare parts he stocks is hard to fathom. Can’t believe he can keep track of them

I was looking for a video of yours with a makita sander a couple of weeks ago! I thought it was an issue with the brushes after watching your videos. Ended up being the armature was destroyed. Luckily my job had another one specifically for parts. Thanks to your videos I had the confidence to do a repair and fix it myself! All of this to say Thank you for all of the videos you put out! Incredibly helpful.

Just a heads up I’d be warning people of not touching a live open tool, someone is going to give themselves a big shock one day. I grew up around this stuff as a kid my old man used to be a motor rewinder and I copped a few jolts as a kid messing around. You’re doing a fantastic job with the videos too, I look forward to them each day 👍
  • You mentioned at the end that people using the tools don’t fix them because your hourly rate is far less than theirs; a sad state of affairs m8, you are so damned skilled at what you do and the knowledge in your head is unbelievable - you should be paid a lot more then, is all I can say!

I don't know if you've done it before but since you're working with them all the time, a video with your hand tools recommendations / preferences would be useful

Looks like you have an endless supply of what appears to be Clan Fraser tartan you use as wipes! Lots of good fun watching your knowledgeable repair and comments about quality and serviceability of these tools. I have learned quite a lot from you already, thank you.

Those Draper DEP1 pliers look fantastic - an 'all in one' angled plier for levering, a wire cutter with pattress screw cutter holes and a crimper! You should team up up with a shop sponsor to get commission from a linked recommendation. Great content again.

Awesome !! 😁 Sitting at my kitchen table with a mug of real coffee,a packet of Tim Tams ( Aussie biscuits. Look them up.😉) and my eyes glued to “ Power Tool Adventures, with Dean D “! “ Watt” will he find today? Will something finally cause Dean to “ arc “ up? Will the fat rat make a “ shocking “ return? I’m sure there’s going to be “ amp”le tools to fix,as long as no one “hertz “ anyone . It shouldn’t happen cos he’s a bright “ spark “ with a lot of good “ connections “,. …… l’ll stop now cos’ this isn’t my “ Field” of expertise,… 😬 Ps. You really need a swivel chair ! 👍🏻

My 2014 Festool ctl midi started to make a different noise then usual a few weeks ago. I took it apart and the brushes were badly worn. It took 3 weeks for new ones to turn up. I fitted them today and everything is working great. I can imagine how long different parts take to get to you for small repairs.

Some nice easy fixes there Dean. I bet you felt like doing the Hikokikoki after sorting that lot? 😉 And nice to see your subs going up.

Great video as usual, I like the idea of ferrules instead of tightening down on the bare wire, any idea where I could get the pliers you use?
  • @brad9529
Would be cool to see you detail one for resale

You’re def’ a Sherlock Holmes figuring out “ Watts “on with these thingos,.. You’ll be glad to get “ ohm” at the end of the day,.. Do you catch a bus home? Is it a long trip, you could always talk to the “ conductor” so you don’t get bored. I think he only works part time,..so l guess he’s a “ semi conductor “,.. He’s a nice Greek chap lve heard,…umm,..l think his name is Con,…yes,..” Con Duit”. Say gday for me next time you’re on the “ circuit”. 😬😉
