Roger Reaves is a former pilot and drug smuggler who employed Barry Seal & ended up in prison for 33 years in 26 different prisons, in 7 different countries spanning 4 continents. His friends and associates spanned the globe. From Medellin Cartel kingpins Jorge Ochoa and Pablo Escobar; to "Mr Nice" Howard Marks and the infamous Barry Seal who was Rogers close friend and employee. In his early 30’s he was making over $1 million a day flying back and forth to Colombia and he eventually hired Barry Seal, and Roger gives vivid details to their relationship up to the very end of Barry’s life. Roger escaped from prison on five separate occasions; was shot down in both Mexico and Colombia; and tortured almost to death in a Mexican prison.

  • This guy was not ready to interview someone with this much to deliver. So much here that didn’t get touched.
  • This guy is a subtly wholesome, straight shooter. Does not rat out his friends no matter what, great guest to interview.
  • I've listen to this man before I don't care what anybody says this man is a national treasure 100% awesome life hes lived
  • “Let me tell you a little story”….proceeds with a mind blowing event - what an incredible life!

This was by far the best podcast on the channel yet. Great work man. What a amazing life story, could talk to that man all day long. It's crazy how nice of a man he is and people would paint him out to be a low life criminal.

This old dude was a hustler. He knew how to make ends meet, especially in the struggle. He definitely put food on the table for his family...A+

It’s a shame you weren’t prepared at all to do this interview
  • @brentm2925
He a put a gun to guys robs to get his money back. Years later that same guy adds him on Facebook. And the interviewer skips right over that story……. 🤦🏾‍♂️
  • As a Pilot myself, I was in Medelin in '83. But, not speaking Spanish and no airplane, I found it required more guts then available. Man...I would have liked to have met those guys. Just for the adventure.

I'm going to read Roger's book but I wish there was an audiobook version where he's the narrator.. great storytelling.. hopefully I'll be able to read it in my head like he would tell it- now that I've listened to 2.5 hours of his voice. Fantastic guest.

How could he get the plane off the ground with the weight of them balls.
  • @kevingraham9356
Roger has lived an absolutely incredible life. Stories for days. Fascinating interview

This man is hands down one of the most intelligent, well spoken, and most importantly wise men I have ever been blessed to get to know if only very briefly through this interview. He should be cherished and viewed as a source of wisdom. Mistakes he made, lessons he learned. Love he made, and children he raised.

I think what made his success in the cartel as a smuggler was he was himself. A humble honest man who never said he could do anything he could not. When your a straight shooter you never have nothing to worie about
  • @InsideTrueCrime
Amazing content. Bro, you are getting better and better with every interview. 💪🏼

After watching Lex Fridmans podcast with him, I had to jump to this one and listen to another. I am so fascinated by this man, and he seems like such a good human being. Roger you are a legend.
