A Chinese jet fighter, is attempting something unbelievable – landing on the deck of a US aircraft carrier. The crew scrambles, alarms blare, and the world holds its breath. Given the current tensions between the US and China, this is not inconceivable. It could also be a tactic by China. What would happen in such a situation? How would the US respond, and what could be the far-reaching consequences of such a brazen act?
While the idea of a Chinese jet fighter attempting to land on a US aircraft carrier may seem far-fetched, it is not entirely impossible.. Such an action could be motivated by various factors, including a pilot's desire to defect, a navigational error, or even a deliberate provocation aimed at testing US resolve and response capabilities.
In the event of an unauthorized landing attempt, the US aircraft carrier crew would immediately spring into action. The ship's air traffic controllers would try to communicate with the approaching aircraft, demanding that it identify itself and state its intentions. If the aircraft fails to respond or continues on its course, the carrier's combat air patrol, consisting of armed fighter jets, would be scrambled to intercept and escort the intruder away from the ship.

  • My question would be, why did the task force allow an “enemy” aircraft get that close to a US aircraft carrier?
  • @ABaney
Sorry, this is a hypothetical I don’t care to see, especially when you start off by implying that it really happened.
  • No non-american fighter would even get close to an aircraft carrier without getting blow out of the sky
  • No way no foreign aircraft would be allowed to get that close.
  • LOL............ the MigCap would have vetted his ass long before he got anywhere near the Carrier.😅
  • Navigational error?? He would not confuse a U.S. carrier for a Chinese one. Not possible.
  • 100 miles they are intercepted and escorted out. Unless the intruder wants to be a roasted duck. 😂
  • If the pilot says “asylum,” make them fly to Taiwan Airport and surrender.
  • He probably went through a wormhole, like in the movie "The Final Countdown"😊
  • No way, an aircraft carrier has lead ships like a destroyer or battleship, absolutely no way an enemy aircraft gets anywhere near it!
  • That Guy was like " here's my chance! I'm going to be an American !"
  • @dbrattice
Impossible. Foreign aircraft approaching an aircraft carrier will be intercepted by the carrier's own aircraft.
  • Chinese aircraft please state your intentions before trying to land or you will be escorted away from our ship, unless you want to go for an unintentional swim.
  • I’m prior military and I haven’t forgotten Pearl Harbor that plane probably would have got blown out the air approaching my aircraft carrier sorry got to go got to go! As a commander I wouldn’t take no chances with my crew or my ship!
  • He probably had to take a dump and was trying to make a pit stop! When you gotta go, you gotta go! Lol
  • Oh I got it, maybe someone from the aircraft carrier ordered Uber eats, and the Chinese jet doing part time delivery service, LOL, egg foo yong coming right up😂
  • If the enemy aircraft gets that close then the Carrier has actually been " destroyed" as modern weapons are stand off. There is an umbrella bubble in which no adversarial or unidentified aircraft is permitted to breach.
  • It would probably turn out having the Pilot to Eject away from the fleet and pick him up....Let the Chinese recover their aircraft....
