This is a Twitter vs X situation. I don't care what Pokemon Company says, I'm calling them Starter Pokemon.

To quote MCU Samuel L Jackson; "I recognize the council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid ass decision, I have elected to ignore it" For real, this isn't like the pronunciations of Pokemon names that people argue over despite the official pronunciations, LITERALLY NO ONE actively calls them "First Partners" as a collective term over "Starters"

I saw a book at my local library today called “First Partner Pokémon” with various Starters on the cover. I didn’t think anything of it, but I also didn’t realize this was a thing they were pushing.

'First Partner' sounds like we're being talked down to by The Pokemon Company, 'Starter Pokemon' is snappy & to the point. They take it away from us, but we're still going to call them Starters.

Actually a rectangle can be a square, rectangle means a polygon with four sides and four 90° corners. A square is a specific type of rectangle

Point of order on Eevee not being a Starter: it was one for Gary in Yellow, both Espeon and Umbreon technically count for Colosseum, you start off with one in Gale of Darkness, you can play as one in Mystery Dungeon and in LGE, it's literally the Starter of the game

I’d argue pikachu and eevee should be considered starters because they are the first Pokémon you can choose in a mainline game
