MINI Cooper S R56 ~ timing chain slack

My 56 plate Cooper S has had the uprated tensioner / chain /guides fitted by MINI at 35K miles and now at 55k miles the noise has just come back.
The slack shown should not be anywhere near as much as shown between what is a very short distance.
The same engine fitted to 2012 / 2013 Citroen DS3 THP is apparently still known to have issues with the timing chain. If factory built new engines are still not any good, what hope have we that the modified parts that are being installed under recall by MINI will be any better

I can't as I had the car repaired and have now sold it. With 3 timing chains fitted in 55,000 miles, and reading much more recent tales of timing chain problems on the newer N18 engine, and of the PSA THP series engine as fitted to Peugeot, Citroen etc think that this design is fundamentally flawed and the problem is incurable.If you google "Cooper s death rattle" you will hear the sound mind was making. It's a diesely knocking noise

My Cooper S had 2 chains fitted ,first at 29k miles, 2nd at 50k. Although Mini paid for both it was the increasing worry I had that the chain would snap that made me get rid asap

I sent this video to a Mini Cooper S specialist tuning garage and he advised NOT to drive it at all until it was fixed. The cost of repair can be high, unless Mini stump up goodwill, but if it does fail, serious engine damage is likely meaning a new engine (£4000)

And this is the reason why u see so many Mini in the used car lot at 50k miles. I want to get a clubman but I guess I have to get one with low miles.

you should know that it is not a PSA engine.... this engine is developed by BMW and MINI. but PSA uses/byes it too from BMW/MINI

Does anyone know what will be wrong with my Cooper s ? When it gets warmed up and u turn the wheel slightly to the right it starts knocking and just gets louder and louder ! Its currently in the garage where it has been on and off since it was bought not a mini garage and they are at a loss now they don't know what is wrong with it
