Hey Kate! hope you are doing well! Yes, the municipal in O'Cebreiro has shared showers.

The only time I came across a shared shower unit was the Public Albergue (PA) in Hospital de Bruma, (the nice looking stone built one with the bread oven). I probably shouldn’t have reminded the complainers that they were on pilgrimage and should consider themselves Lucy for such nice facilities, especially considering they alternative of washing in in the muddy stream outside, in early spring. The showers in the PA in Pontezuma, we’re a delight, no hot water at that time of year, maybe considered very therapeutic. Hope you are well, Katie.

The other one I saw was in the Private, Albergue Real in Sigueiro. If you choose the nice bed option there is a room by reception for four beds. It’s nice bed bathroom is across the hallway, through a door there are two shower stalls, with no doors or curtains, the toilet for this bathroom is between the shower stalls. On the opposite side of the room are the basins and other accoutrements. Needless to say I didn’t think I could afford the nice bed area but was shown around anyway by some nice naturist type Europeans who thought I might like to join them….. also on Sigueiro theAlbergue Miras closed because of a lot of trouble. The attached restaurant also has a reputation, despite the fact that it looks quite nice…..

Thanks for mentioning how potentially tough this issue is for trans people ❤

I was surprised that the showers at the municipal albergue in O’Cebreiro did not have shower curtains - kinda took me back to my middle school gym class days, lol!

Hi Kate, good to see you back. I don't think that I could handle sharing a shower area with another person. At my age, that would not be fun.... Lol. But I guess what's fun doesn't always matter... I will do some thinking on this .😊
