  • I love how cocky and confident Anne is until the last verse of the song and during the last chorus you can really hear the panic and desperation in her voice.

The ironic thing about this is the Anne WAS bothered about politics and wasn’t actually considered extremely pretty. In fact, Catherine of Aragon was probably ‘fitter’ when she was Anne’s age. What drew Henry to Anne was that she WOULDN’T sleep with him. Once they were actually married (after many years) it was her refusing to stop voicing her opinion and accept that Henry wanted mistresses that got her beheaded. A women before her time.

Henry cheats on his wife with her: "Well lol haha" After their wedding Henry cheats on her: suprised pikachu face

Every time she says "what was I meant to do?" the tone of the song gets darker and darker... like, really, everyone blames her, but she didn´t had the power to say no to the king
  • @cami_cosmos
"And then my daddy said, 'You should try and get ahead.'" this is the best pun. i just noticed it. and it is the BEST
  • I like how Anne is the only queen to tell her entire story. Aragon sings about the divorce, Seymour sings a bout her son, Cleves sings about her life after Henry, Howard sings about her sexual abuse, and Parr sings about her love for Thomas and refusal to marry Henry.

I love how aggressive she is when she say x rated

I just realized Anne was the only one that actually had her death and situation actually said in detail

Anne: Don't lose your head Henry: Oh I won't, but YOU--

I just wanna say: Inside the court, however, Queen Anne suffered greatly from her failure to produce a living male heir. After she miscarried twice, Henry became interested in one of Anne's ladies-in-waiting, Jane Seymour. In an all-out effort to leave his unfruitful marriage, Henry contrived an elaborate story that Anne had committed adultery, had incestuous relations and was plotting to murder him. Henry charged three men on account of their adultery with his wife, and on May 15, 1536, he put her on trial. Anne, regal and calm, denied all charges against her. Four days later, Henry's marriage to Anne was annulled and declared invalid. Anne was then taken to the Tower Green, where she was beheaded in private on May 19, 1536. Thank you.
  • Henry- Cheats on Anne Anne- Cheats on Henry Henry- Surprised pikachu face

Anne's cheerful attitude during this song probably is in reference to accounts of her final days as well as her execution, when she was allowed visitors during her imprisonment records show how shocked people were about her high spirits and jovial attitude and reports of her execution note that she was almost "skipping" towards the headsman. While in prison on what was commonly known as false charges of adultery, she was supposedly reported as explaining her joy at her upcoming execution being that she's just relieved that this will all be over soon, the humiliation and anger will have an end. Her final speech before her death she proclaimed that she still loved Henry, although many believe that this was to protect Elizabeth I, whose status and future was in limbo at this period in time.

  • @norabeth1951
I don't know if this was on purpose, but I like how she sounds childish throughout the song until the end.
  • @raphiolli
WTF- WAS ANYONE GONNA TELL ME ABOUT THIS MUSICAL OR WAS I JUST SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT IT??
  • Dont compare SIX to Hamilton. You wouldn't compare "Assasins" to "Anastasia" because they both are amazing in their way.
  • FUN FACT: did you know that green is the color of jealousy and envy? Funny... i seem to remember that Anne is wearing a green dress and talks about her getting jealous over Henry sleeping around...and wanting to make him jealous. Coincidence? I think not!
