If I know movies, and particularly MCU movies, here's what is going to happen: You'll spend the next two months theorizing on what you think could be happening, based on this or that little scrap of information, thinking you broke some secret code in the movies, trailers, commercials, etc, then the movie will come out and it will turn out to be just the simplest of explanations, in this case probably just that it's a different Wolverine variant from a world we haven't seen before who they can attach whatever history and story to that they need.

Logan takes place "5 years" after the new days of future past? Where there's a school full of kids at 7:35...When the Logan clip at 8:48 says there "hasn't been a new mutant born in 25 years." Wat?

Theory to chew on: the variant of Wolverine in DP&W is based off of Old Man Logan, in that he was manipulated into killing his other X-Men. But instead of by Mysterio, he was telepathically manipulated by Cassandra Nova into doing it, which gives him a personal stake against her in the movie.

Have we tried rebooting Colton…? He seems to be a tad bit broken. 😂😂

This Wolverine is the Greatest Showman

I can see the wolverine that went back in time in DOFP being the Wolverine in Deadpool 3. He stayed back in that timeline and live 50-60 years in the future. His original timeline that he came from got destroyed and that’s why they say he let down his world. Now he just lives with the thought of being out of place and stuck in a world where everything’s different.

Alternative theory - the Logan in Deadpool & Wolverine is the '73 Logan who got thrown into the Void when he was replaced by DoFP Logan. OR he was thrown into another timeline, causing an incursion there.

In Logan, Logan tells Charles there haven't been any new mutants in 25 years. Days of Future Past ends five years earlier with plenty of youngsters at Xavier's school.

I don't think it is the same Wolverine because the one from Logan saw his friends die only one year before. This Logan doesn't look like he'll become 2029 Logan in only one year.

No. he isnt the Wolverine from Logan. He is a VARIANT of that Wolverine. This one did something different, therefore the TVA is after him. Because remember if time travel shenanigans are supposed to happen, the TVA allows it, hence why they never went after the Avengers, as explained in the first ep of Loki.
