New York's Treasure Beach: Mudlarking NYC's Most Notorious Goldmine

Published 2023-10-10
In this video, we'll explore the Treasure Spilling Landfill in New York City, one of the most infamous beaches in the city.

The Treasure Spilling Landfill is a landfill located in the historically Jewish neighborhood of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. In the 1990s, it became known as the site where a group of metal thieves searching for treasure buried metal detectors in the trash and soil, hoping to find valuable artifacts. The city eventually discovered the treasure, and the scheme caused an uproar in the neighborhood.

This video is a fun exploration of one of New York City's most mysterious and notorious beaches. If you're interested in learning more about the Treasure Spilling Landfill, be sure to check it out!
New York City has a famous opened landfill where tons of treasure cycles out on a off the grid beach. New York Mudlarks compete every day for the treasure on that beach. It doesn't matter that it was once garbage. Time has passed and history is sought after!

I am a treasure hunter. So in addition to metal detecting, I go mudlarking at sites in New York City. Think of mudlarking as metal detecting without a metal detector.

The item (metal plate) at time line 11:37 with the different geometric shapes is a practice setting plate for learning how to set diamonds called bead and bright cutting.

"🤣I don't wanna touch you"🤣🤣🤣🤣. VERY good video....and VERY nice of you to help her get to England AND VERY nice of her to give you those coins. Smiles and laughs a plenty☺️.
  • @loridietrich2369
That spoon Adele got is from the World's Fair. She beat you on this spoon alone!😂
  • @dabotta9793
So nice of her to give you those coins .. awesome. She seems like a good person.

That spoon is from the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. It's a memento and keepsake. My grandmother went to it. It's one of the 5 percenter finds up there with silver cups. Doggone it, Merrill. She did it. lol Then she gave you two really nice coins. Merrill, she won with just that spoon, man. You gotta work harder. Go! Go! Go! lol You know I'll probably never stop watching your videos and now I got Adele's to watch after I subscribed to her because she finds better stuff than you do. 😉👍‍🖖‍

LOL. The best hunts are with a good buddy where the smack talk never ends. Me and my buddy are constant and that is what makes it fun.
  • @Merlin7huna

The copper plate at 11:30 is a jewellers practice plate for parvey setting.
  • @user-fe8wl2em4e
The coin you found on minute 8:22 is "50Mils", a British- Palestine coin, from 1920-1948
  • @michaelstein4295

  • @toddfroelich1190
I think if Adele was 30 years younger and the way you tease each other, you might have been a couple😂😂😂 good mudlarking video and the best of luck in jolly old England

I found a space rocks. It made the metal detector sing. Xray shows it had 5% iridium, 35% platinum some gold, iron and a few other elements.
