"We’re at a point where political fatigue has set in and become an issue for most people who live in our country no matter what side of the coin they land on. In an election year that feeling is going to start elevating to new heights as we prepare for what’s next in America. The lyrics and energy of the song showcase that sentiment so I wanted to create something visually that almost feels like a trailer for what we are about to experience. I also wanted to address PTSD for people who have serviced in the military and how the increased political landscape affects their mental health which often goes unnoticed. I clearly wanted to take it as far as I could with this example." -Jim Louvau

For his debut album, From Hell I Rise, due out May 17 on Reigning Phoenix Music, King, on guitar, enlisted drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah), Phil Demmel (formerly Machine Head) on guitar, and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel). Working with producer Josh Wilbur (Korn, Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Religion), the vast bulk of King’s solo album was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles.

“Toxic” lyrics:
Sanity implies
That there’s intelligence
All I ever find
Is pure incompetence
Laws are washed away
Society will bleed
Scorned and left to die
And now the mutant’s feed

Too many people
Spend too much time
Forcing their opinions
On other people’s lives

Toxic rhetoric
Toxic government
Toxic politics
Toxic hypocrites

To your face they lie
Unleash and overthrow
Legal rights denied
And fall like dominoes
Hide behind the cloak
To change your way of life
Liberty revoked
A target for all time

Too many people
Spend too much time
Forcing their opinion
On other people’s lives

Toxic rhetoric
Toxic government
Toxic politics
Toxic hypocrites

Lead-Demmel

Toxic rhetoric
Toxic government
Toxic politics
Toxic hypocrites

Biased policy
Aborting history
Exploding at the chance
With rabid arrogance

Lead-King

Words now weaponized
With violence criticize
Ignore the majority
And force feed insanity

Lead-King

Unleash hatred’s wrath
And social aftermath
You penance will be do
It’s time for my own fucking coup

Too many people
Spend too much time
Forcing their opinion
On other people’s lives

Toxic rhetoric
Toxic government
Toxic politics
Toxic hypocrites

Phil Demmel is a Randy Rhoads freak. Plays his signature polka-dot flying V guitar and RR tattoo on his leg 🤘

I could imagine Kerry King playing with the Cavalera brothers. It would be epic.

Listened to the album a couple of times at work today and absolutely love it. Mark is on another level. And I think this is my favorite track.
