Everyone talking about the flashy drummer but that bassist lurking in the shadows is laying down a tasty groove.

In the tradition of adding Blind Willie Johnson's John the Revelator to Cannon - Jack goes back to the well and adds a dash of Blind Willie's Jesus is Coming Soon to Ball & Biscuit - about a pandemic 100 years ago that is just as timely today. This man is a blues savant.

Three years later and this performance still gives me all the feels. One of the best ever. Thanks!

I usually fast-forward through the musical acts on SNL. I watched this one 3x’s. One of the best SNL performances ever. Spectacular!
  • @spridle
He has such an strong connection with every single drummer that drums for him.

One of the greatest performances on SNL EVER. Absolutely wonderful

One of the most unpredictable, prolific, innovative and fearless performers to walk the earth. Jack White: Artist for the ages.
  • When Jack smirks, and gives Daru that look, you know. We all know. He knows. They just killed it. Perfection.

The drummer is wearing safety glasses. That’s how dangerous it was out on that stage. Straight murder.

My god.... That f-ing sound on the solo, nothing short of heavenly.

Warms the heart to see Jack getting so much love in the comments section. This recognition is long overdue. Also warms the heart to know there are still folks out there who enjoy the blues like I do. Thanks to everyone who helps keep the scene alive while I just sit by and listen. Much respect.

3 Instruments took me to a "place" where I typically go when listening to an entire orchestra! Beyond this, I'm speechless.

Never. And I mean NEVER let Jack White take the stage from you. Whatever his name was done messed up. One of my all-time favorite performances on SNL.

Greatest SNL performance of all time. Perfect to have him on during this time and with his EVH guitar that Eddie had made to spec for Jack. He looks like he misses playing live
  • @romilrh
You can tell Jack loved what that drummer did at 4:27, he starts smiling and then nods at him when he has a second. Super cool moment

I hardly ever leave YouTube comments but I just have to give props to this performance. Gave me literal chills. My soul has been craving music like this.
