Backpacking Colchuck Lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness - Washington State

Published 2019-06-14
Last week, two friends and I decided to try our luck at scoring some early summer overnight permits for the Enchantments in Washington; more specifically Colchuck Lake since the Core is still frozen. The weather was perfect and the lake not too crowded yet. It was my first time camping up here and I'm sure I'll be back sooner rather than later, especially to get a coveted Core Permit.

It's like you've just walked into one of Bob Ross' paintings.

Really enjoyed your video. I liked your editing and camera angles- gave it a nice experiential feel. And I also liked that you didn’t use music, just natural sounds and non-intrusive conversations. I will definitely watch more like that if you keep sharing your backpacking trips again.

Hello! I have a quick question, Can you camp directly at Colchuck lake and if so what kinds of permits do you need? Also, Are there deticated camp sites or can you pitch up where ever. Thank you in Advance.
