In this video you'll find my favorite songs of 1965. Of course I wasn't part of this earth at that time so all the songs in the video are tracks I discovered years later. In the upcoming weeks I'm trying to continue my VERY BEST Series with all the years from the 60s.

Disclaimer: Some songs might be released at the end of 1964 so I took the creative freedom to put them in this video as it would be more in line with how charts were at that time. Remember: Even if a song was released then it might have taken some time to chart and especially if it was a song from overseas. Songs that I already used in my Best Of 1966 however weren't eligible.

What are your favorites of 1965? What do you remember? Do you think it was a good year for popular music? Missed any songs? You can write in the comments and discuss this ranking but please keep it civil. Thank you!

No Copyright infringement intended. You can buy all these songs in full length in your favorite store. No money are made of this videos, just a hobby to celebrate music.

  • 13 years old , coming into my teens , while some of historys greatest songs were being written !!!! Sad that todays children will never be able to experience life unfolding like it did then !!!!
  • We were so spoiled back then and didn't know it. The music today is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to the 60's. The talent pool was over-flowing in 1965.
  • God 😇🙏😴🥰😻😢 Bless THEM ALL. They Are All So Talented.

There cannot ever have been a better year than this for music. One classic after another, and all still sound fantastic nearly sixty years later.

And here we are in 2024; the Who and The Stones are still filling stadiums! :0))))
  • I certainly remember listening to a lot of these songs in 1965. I was 9 years old and had gotten my first transistor radio ..
  • 1965 was amazing time in music 🎶 it will never be like that again 😢
  • The Beatles and Motown. Opposite ends of the music spectrum and all great. 🙂
  • I remember all of these tunes I had a 1964-5 Mustang and would ride around listing to these tunes those were the days.

I graduated HS in 1965. Remember all of these with the exception of a few non English ones. The 60's were a great time to be alive but so were the 70's thru 2020's. Hope for a few more. I do enjoy listening to the old songs sitting on my back deck while smoking a good cigar with a strong cup of coffee. Life is good.
  • 1965 certainly was a amazing 😻 time for music 🎼. The Beatles,Stones, Bob Dylan, had several songs going up the charts. What Bob Dylan sang was true because “Times are a Changin” of course they were. Those were the times of good music. The music of 1965 didn’t have profanity in them like nowadays, because the other day I heard kids singing a song with cus words in it and they didn’t care they were out in public. Some of those songs are demeaning to women. The songs of 1965 doesn’t have those type of lyrics in their songs. That was the time of good 👍 clean 🧼 music 🎼. We know those times aren’t coming back, and thanks for sharing these wonderful songs with us.
  • We had no idea how fortunate we were to have grown up with this exceptionally artistic music. But sadly, we are all too aware that we will never experience this again in our lifetime. Immerse yourself in it and enjoy it while you can.
  • Ciao. USMC 64--68. Tuesday March 9TH 1965. 19 years old and getting off the plane at Tan san noot Air Force Base Vietnam. And as for the rest. Well I'm sure everyone already knows. But I still remember and love these great old songs. I'm very proud to have been a part of this generation. Despite the negative things that were happening, it was still an OK time.
  • Unforgotten!😊all the weekends hangin' around the jukebox....great times❤

If I was asked which decade of music I wanted to retain for posterity. It would without doubt be 1963 -1973.

And to think, all this music was crammed into one year. I turned 16 that summer. It was good to be alive, listening to KACY in Oxnard, California. “K-A-C-Y! 1520!” Still remember the radio jingle.
