Dive into Preston Hill Quarry 2024. See stolen cars, sunken boats, dumped bikes and lost GoPros.

Publicado 2024-08-02
Preston Hill Quarry was an active site quarrying dolerite stone from its cliff sides up until 1980.

Over the years it has filled with rain water and is now just over 11 metres in depth.

My first dive at this site was in 1987.

Great to see a video with no music and no talking easy watching.
  • The Nissan with the key in the ignition would be ideal for one of those "will it start" videos I see featured so often 😊

Parking in the UK is getting ridiculous. Even the free spots at the bottom of the quarry are taken.

Thats pretty cool.I used to swim in there when i was a kid and ride around that bit on my dirt bike. I lived just along from it in Dalgety Bay. Used to go down there loads of times. Cool seeing it from that perspective. Might even take a walk along there this weekend now. Cheers for putting that up.

  • Wow, what a shame that’s a lot of garbage in the water. I have been a diver since 1978 our local club, used to get together clean up the river shopping carts parking meters😅 enjoy your video

Seeing the car emerge out of the gloom at 11:48 brought back memories for me, once I seen the wheel I knew for definite it was an Audi 80 Sport, then the badges on the boot confirmed it, I drove one in 1988, thanks for the very interesting video.
