    Unless it's a question of money, you can buy T reducers. When I build a liebig, I do a 3/4 inch jacket over a 1/2 inch condenser. Buy a 3/4-in x 1/2-in Copper Slip Tee Fitting. You have to file out the restricting bumps but after that, it allows the condenser pipe to pass cleanly through with minimal drilling and soldering. Just a suggestion.

    Instead of making a hole in the side and soldering a thermometer adapter on, use a "t" at the top and put the thermometer at the top where it should be. The temp should be at the top of the column for more accurate monitoring.

    copper is expensive because of electric cars, as you know it has high electrical conductivity and stuff. its the new gold. invest in copper stocks if u want some real $
