the soft tip bullets are made to cause more damage to the inside of the animal it hit, the soft tip changes shape on impact making the puncture much harder to "walk off" for a lack of better terms. the reason the animals aren't bleeding much is because you aren't hitting good spots, you tend to want to shoot for lungs when hunting. the animal cant run if the animal cant breathe.
